You really think Kiffin would call from his phone to someone "high-up" at UF?

Wouldn't that call come from a burner or a Sexton number, if it even happened?

At this point in the process, why go through all that? The only thing a call from Kiffin confirms is that they are talking

Of course if you follow coaching searches you know that's at least potentially a big deal. Most people aren't as engaged as pretty much anyone on this board though, for instance.

shite, I would be surprised if he hasn't personally called at least one person at UF AND LSU

Given the prominence of this booster, surely he was privy to the questions being asked. What did he say ‘kiffin’ asked?

Because of everything that has been going on...this is tiny compared to everything else.

Also, I can basically guarantee that if it was a question that was anything remotely around something that could lead to a negotiation, then there's no way Lane is making that call himself.

that's not how this works. IF he had any questions, those would be routed through Jimmy Sexton. Lane wouldn't call himself.

Let's run a thought experiment. If Lane had already agreed to be the Florida coach, would it then make sense for Lane to call?

You don't have to agree with the premise, I know you won't, but assume the premise is true.

This seems chaotic because we don't know everything. If you're Lane it doesn't seem that way at all. A lot of this noise is manufactured, I think Lane has actually tried to keep this as low key as possible for the sake of the 2025 OM roster while also considering his own future.

Nothing about any of that. You’re just talking out of your arse.

Kiffin hasn't made his decision yet, he planned to decide after the Egg Bowl and Ole Miss forced his hand leading to all of the nonsense the last week or so.

I get what you're saying. I do.

But I still think that call comes from Sexton. I just don't think he makes a call from his personal phone specifically because of what we're talking about here.

About what, specifically?

And if I'm correct, which I might or might not end up being, I'm sure you'll come back and own up to it

Well that's fair - but, if the shoes were on the other foot, I think you would understand why LSU fans would make a big deal about it.

I dunno man...

We'd prolly be like, "Why the frick is he running his mouth on here".

Also, we'd all never believe that Gordon McKernan was posting here using his real name. We'd all think it was some dude in Tuscaloosa fricking with us.

A lot of you treating this like recruiting.

IT DOESNT WORK LIKE THAT.

Sexton reps a lot of coaches. He can't go pissing all over a school like some of you think.

If the decision hasn't been made and UF and LSU are still in it...both schools know it.

If the decision has been made...all the schools know it.

We will not be in a situation where we think LK is signing with us and he signs with UF. Everyone will know.

I think both things can be true. I wish he never said it, but the fact that he said it is still news.

If Gordon had posted for decades under his own moniker, and journalists consistently verified his identity, you'd probably believe it.
