Florida can lure some legit coaches
Muschamp, Mcelwain, Muffin included?

In all seriousness i wish they hadn't fired Mullen in the middle of our search.

Mark Stoops has won SEC Coach of the Year and proven he has a sharp eye for talent & can develop NFL-caliber players. He knows the state of Florida well from time coaching on the USF, Miami and FSU staffs. Why we think UF will look closely at the UK coach:

Stoops and his agent are creating a lot of smoke.

I don’t see Stoops as a legitimate option for either Florida or LSU. Don’t think that hire moves the needle for either program.

So I’m curious as to why Mullen isn’t coaching the final game. Did he not want to or did the administration not want him to?

I can't believe how bad they are. He lost the team somehow....it isn't the talent. Granted the QB is not that great.

I'm so worried that LSU could become one of these schools on the perpetual coaching search every 3-4 yrs like UT, UF, Tenn, etc.

I don't think it will happen but the 1st domino has fallen.

Not breaking news at this point, but Stricklin is meeting with Napier in Louisiana.

David Waters - Gators Breakdown
@GatorDave_SEC
Getting from people in Louisiana and locally that meeting with Napier is happening today.

From Auburn Site...

I have a few sources in the know that say UF AD is in Louisiana meeting with Napier right now and that Napier will be the next HC at UF. He’s my first choice if Harsin bolts for UW. Not sure who AU could realistically get. Maybe O’Brien

Not a ton to report on the search today other than the news below from David Waters, pretty well respected “reporter”.

-says SS met with Napier or his reps in the panhandle yesterday

-says it’ll be Napier

-expects it to come out soon(did say he doesn’t know if they’ll wait until after his CG)

I don't think Napier is a good hire for the Gators. Napier has the highest or second highest football budget in the Sunbelt while being located in arguably the most fertile recruiting territory in the Sunbelt. Plus, Napier's offenses at ULL haven't been all that. Furthermore, I just don't see Napier moving the needle in the State of Florida recruiting wise.

I respectfully disagree regarding the recruiting. Napier would be a major step up from Mullen, which isn’t saying much but Napier’s track record recruiting wise is solid. Nobody is going to own recruiting in the state of Florida these days IMO, too many transplants and the families aren’t loyal to Florida schools. If one of them starts winning on the big stage, that may change down the road.

My biggest worry with Napier is offensive play calling. I would like a true CEO as the next coach.

I read that Harsin was a candidate for the Washington job. Not sure how serious of a candidate.

Napier's offenses aren't impressive in my opinion and I'm from Louisiana. I watch ULL football. He's had one QB at ULL and ULL finally got behind their talented but underachieving football program while Napier was coach.

To be a better recruiter than Mullen shouldn't be your standard. Is he going to be a better recruiter than Kirby or possibly Cristobal or Kiffin if one of them takes the Miami job should be your standard.
