Vol fans can pretty much kiss any decent coach goodbye. No one is going to that shite show.

Good. Dude didn’t even do his homework on Schiano

It meshes with the story appearing on Reddit that the kill shot on the Schiano hire was a booster revolt that saw threats to withhold money earmarked for Butch’s buyout.
The boosters wanted to be kept in the loop on the process and Currie lied to them, saying he was investigating coaches instead of floating Schiano as a possibility.
The fan revolt was bad PR. The booster revolt could have paralyzed the athletic department by forcing them to pony up Butch’s buyout due to Currie’s frickups.

I don't know George, in this capitalistic money worshipping country money talks loud and clear.

What kind of a buyout does he have? Going to have to pay him, Schiano, a new AD, and a new football coach.

We were about to hire Greg Schiano.
Haslam e Currie were never going to bring a good coach. Who gives a frick lol

Absolutely!!!
Tenn has created a mess which no established coach is going to want to walk into. They'll have to get someone who really isn't in demand...which happens to be Alleva's specialty!!!! This move makes too much sense not to happen.

It's fitting. They rioted over some fake allegations of a B level coach, and because of that they're gonna end up with a C or D level coach.

Feels really similar to their last coaching search, but way wilder

Tennessee has reportedly now been turned down by Larry Fedora and Mike Gundy, in addition to Charlie Strong and Jon Gruden. Four big swings, and four whiffs. It's gotten so bad, Volunteers players are literally volunteering. You know, Gene Chizik is available. But Joker Phillips is not.

Currie put out a press release basically saying “We saw Schiano as a top choice, we fully vetted him, even for the Penn State allegations, and found nothing of substance in that matter. Yet we pulled our offer anyway.”
People are reading between the lines and saying that Currie and Haslem pretty much we’re dead set on Schiano and proceeded even when the rest of the boosters, UT players, fans, the athletic department, and Smokey were all against it.
