Explain to me how the Okies make the playoffs

Not that it matters because it really doesn't. But even if Bama beat UGA, we'll have 2 SEC teams in the playoffs. Then OSU and ???, but not Oklahoma...

A Cinci loss to Houston next week opens up a spot. At that point you'd be comparing a 1 loss ND and a 1 loss Oklahoma for the final spot.
Oklahoma would probably get in as Big 12 champ

When UGA beats Bama the top 3 will be UGA, OSU and Cincy. The 4th playoff spot would be between 12-1 conference champion Oklahoma and 11-1 Notre Dame. Oklahoma would have just beaten ranked Oklahoma State twice in a row. ND already lost to one of the playoff teams. You really can’t see how they would put Oklahoma in over Notre Dame?

It doesn’t. There is a slim chance but not likely even if they win their conference.
Georgia is in regardless now (unless somehow the lose today which ain’t gonna happen)
Bama would be in if they beat Georgia (but I doubt that happens so I’m counting them out)
Ohio State or Michigan is in if either win out but since they play today only one can.
Cincinnati is in unless they lose their conference championship game (which I doubt will happen)
Notre Dame is in over Oklahoma unless they lose today which isn’t going to happen. (ND draws in far more TV viewers than Oklahoma and if you don’t think that plays a role in the decision you are an idiot)

Georgia needs to win & Cincy need to lose, or if Wisconsin could pull an upset
If they win out, they have a decent case anyway, but jumping the B1G, ND & Cincy seems unlikely

Possibly. But money talks and ND in the playoffs is far more money than Oklahoma.
They have given Oklahoma zero respect (rightly so) all year.

The Domers have a better team for sure...

Yep, and ESPN leaving ND out of the playoffs in favor of conference champs could help force ND into the ACC. Leaving ND out makes ESPN far more money then putting them in this season.

Not really. Leaving ND independent gives them the chance to set their entire schedule. Giving them far better chances to make the playoffs.

Do they though?

Having a one loss Big 12 team jump ND send a pretty strong message to join a conference or risk this happening again.

Not really because the playoff is about to expand.

The winner of UM vs OSU loses in the B1G championship game could eliminate that conference. Cincy could lose or not win convincingly and OU wins 2 in a row convincingly. UGA pounds Gumps which could eliminate them. ND would probably not have a better resumé than a Big 12 champion.
It’s possible but a lot of things would have to go OU’s way.

They have to win out, and hope Cincinnati loses. They'd be the easiest way.
I happen to think if OU wins out along with UGA, Ohio St and Cincinnati, OU will jump ND.

OU doesn't get in over ND. From a money perspective and just general style points, ND automatically gets in before them if Cin loses. OU really hasn't been that great this year. It's a team you look at a record and say they must be good but they're not. They've looked sloppy at times and it makes sense considering Williams is a true freshman. It's actually a damn miracle Riley was able to sustain only 1 loss to that team so far.

You can’t put a 1-loss ND over a 1-loss team that beat them badly AND has more wins.
You have to punish ND for less games and lack of a conference championship. ND has beaten no one worth a damn this year. There best win is an awful Wisconsin team that has 3 losses.
