Well then maybe the rest of us are overstating LSU talent level I mean it is just hard to imagine anyone not being able to win with the amount of talent LSU has. I am just saying that a coach like Harbough I could see running the table for two straight yrs and Miles hasn't done it once. I think part of the problem with his perception is the way he has lost the games he has and some of the ones he has won as well.
Truth is...it is still waiting to be seen. There have been ups and downs. Since 2008 I have been taking it one year at a time because 2008 was horrible. 2009 was better and 2010 was better than 2009. So I am seeing improvment.
Next year LSU will be preseason top 5, so I am liking where we are at right now.
Now if we dont win the MNC next year fire him!

LSU letting him go and getting a top coach is the worst thing that could happen to the rest of the sec.

I think it's funny people think Joe Alleva will hire somebody competent. The guy didn't even hire Coach K at Duke and has no head coaching football search experience.

What. The. frick.
If you think Chizik wins 9 games with Malzy you're an idiot.

If LSU had a losing season this past yr it would still be a top ten job in cfb. There is a good enough talent pool in LA alone to keep LSU in the top twenty every yr not to mention their success in Texas. My question is who wouldn't. My personal choice would be Harbough or Whittingham. If Kelly wasn't playing for a NC this yr I am not so sure he wouldn't have taken a job like this.

As a Bama fan I would much rather face Miles at LSU every year as opposed to Gary Patterson or someone else of his caliber.

Damn right atleast we know Miles. I don't want to see a young offensive minded coach with this body of receivers.

Jimbo Fisher....But...would he leave FlSt? For the sake of the Miles family, IMHO...leave Les.

Within 1 MINUTE of Miles announcing he's leaving there would be 10 legit coaches and/or their agents beating down Alleva's door.
LSU can attract top 5 recruiting classes, and in College Football that is the name of the game. Any legit coach would drool at the prospects of taking over the LSU program. Today, tomorrow, or 3 years from now.
I would submit to you that while Miles had advantages when he took over the program that Saban had to build up himself, except for 2008 and the '09 Ole Miss game he's outperformed Saban overall as head coach.
Remember how Saban's teams lost to Arkansas when the SEC West was on the line and to Iowa in the Cap One bowl? Didn't he also get a gift from Kentucky in '02? Let's not pretend that he didn't leave some baggage and disgruntled fans at LSU.
Overall Miles has run a clean program, brought in many big time recruiting classes, beat down Ohio State, Miami Fla., Notre Dame and Georgia Tech in bowl games (these games WERE NOT CLOSE)and lost to Penn State by a field goal under dubious field conditions at best.
Whether or not Miles leaves for Michigan, LSU will be a dominant team for years to come under any legit coach.

That's a name I didn't think of but as a Bama fan I don't want Jimbo there either. I think he was the man for the job when Saban left. He is a great recruiter and obviously a good coach.

Miles should be their #1 but politics are in the way.

Hey Gumps the last I checked Les beat you this year without getting out all of his talent.
