Not a rumor and it was closer to 9 months.
MSU's recruiting coordinator was poached from UW and Chryst took his sweet time replacing him. The assistants went to ND iirc.

Pretty much the inverse of M Campbell situation at ISU. Move on to the blue blood when you get the shot before life passes you by.
Amazed this came together as fast as it did. Rumors now that this was pretty much done Friday but was kept under wraps since the Cinci/Tulane game was an elimination for the AAC title game.

A buddy in the know in Madison messaged me 17 days ago that the UW AD was targeting Fickell and I dismissed it, assuming Leonhard was a shoo-in to be hired.
