I hope Coach O is coming!

If you read the Tennessee boards, they are in love with him as much as LSU fans

What I really like about Chavis as DC, is that he may not be one of the really great DCs out there, but he is very solid...and he isnt gonna leave for a HC position. He's had some subpar seasons, but some of those were injury and depth related. If you can have the number of top 10 defenses that he's had, you cant be anything other than at least very good. Add O for the DL and recruiting, and I have to say this was at least a triple. Ill let you know a year from now if I think it was a Homerun...

I know right..

I hope my reputation is good enough around here, that you can believe what I have written, which isn't much, but more of a confirmation that some really good news is on the way regarding LSU football asst. coaches.

My LSU buddy and I are die hard LSU fans...we exchange about 3-5 emails a day "relative" to LSU football alone..

Not everyone is going to be happy.

I think you are in the minority on this Mud.

Just like when you try to hire a HC, you can't hire Bill Cowher or Bill Belechich. Availability is a huge factor when hiring..

I think Chavis is very good hire considering who is actually available and wants to coach college football.

Keonning took another job
Walker wants to be a HC pretty bad
Who else do you have on your short list?

What would make you happy? Why is that candidate a better fit for lsu than Chavis and O?

Being happy with the hire is a lot less important than being happy with the team's performance next year.

I'd love to have Orgeron, but to pretend like he's our only path to success is ignorant.

Maybe I'm reading too much into Alleva's comments, but I have a feeling it may be a guy in the NFL right now. My head tells me Chavis, but I have a feeling it may be a DC in the NFL that no one is talking about.

Nothing. He's proven to be incapable of being pleased with our defense.

Glanville - perhaps the greatest defensive mind in college football baby

Best quote of all time from Glanville

talking to a rookie during game about a mistake

"you know what NFL stands for?"...."Not For Long if you keep playing like that, now come on!"

He was actually talking to an official when he said that

LINK

He could resurrect something similar to the "House Of Pain" defense at the Ole War Skule.

I kinda have the same feeling. Maybe someone in the NFL showed interest weeks ago and the deal is done, but waiting until NFL regular season is over to announce. Or its Chavis.

What coordinators would be getting fired? It's rare that NFL coordinators leave voluntarily to come be coordinators in college.

Did Joe Alleva pick them like he did our Basketball coach?

If Tenuta was indeed the person who told Herbie that Miles was going to Michigan, it's probably won't be him.

Usually the good defensive minds end up getting head coaching positions.

I'd like to get Strong, but that ain't happening.

It must be nice to be Paul Rhoads, to get paid big to work on the lovely campus of ISU.

the more i think about it the more i get worried. I have heard nothing about lane getting a job. Mallory was reported to be a favorite, but we have heard nothing since. If mallory and lane don't get jobs, Does miles fire them? If they stay we still have room for two coaches since pelini left and we promoted, So technically we could still have orgeron and chavis. But that would be fricked up.

Mallory is a good coach imo.

forgot about robinson so never mind.
