He's welcome to be A&M's Defensive Coordinator.

Orgeron was in a upbeat mood when we spoke today.Said he loved #USC players but felt it's time to go. Going back to N.O. w/ his wife & kids.

USC beat writer Scott Wolf reports Ed Orgeron has applied for FAU's head coaching vacancy.

That was quick. Orgeron informed players he was resigning from USC after the school hired Steve Sarkisian as their head coach. The excellent recruiter obviously wants a head coaching gig somewhere.

Do not want that guy in S. Florida. We're staking a flag down there and Orgeron and his questionable ethics will be a burr in the saddle.

makes no sense for a shitty gameday coach who's best skill is recruiting, to go to a shitty school like FAU where he won't be able to attract enough talent to win

He wants to be a head coach. Problem is...he wasn't that great of a head coach at Ole Miss. Sure he brought the talent level up in Oxford but he averaged a 1-7 record in the SEC per year.

He took what David Cutcliffe built while at Ole Miss and tore it down.

He wasn't the best coach in the world, but he brought the talent level of Ole Miss back up to par with the SEC.

he did; but he also did it in an era when you could over-sign, and just wait for a 25 of the 32 to qualify.
FWIW schools like ULL are taking advantage of the no oversigning by the SEC.

I doubt he's outgraged he didn't get the job.

Agree. But, he has pride and probably thinks he deserved a shot.

Sometimes, there is no middle ground. Either they appreciate what he did enough to give him a shot as the head guy...or they don't.

Move Brick to LBs (his natural position), Coach O to DL, esminger to a admin position and have the TEs split practice time with WR and OL

Ed O's not going to be an assistant coach. If he gets the HC job at FAU, they'll get good South Florida talent in a hurry. I've heard stories from those that know about his days at Miami. I believe he'll do quite well down there.
