Ed O is Ron zook 2.0

I like ed O and appreciate his work at USC.
But the people calling for him to be head coach at LSU are insane. "He can recruit". Ok great what else can he do? Can he oversee an entire program? One that's expected to compete for sec and national titles every year?
If lsu hires him I see a repeat of zook at Florida. 3-4 years of meh, then another coach comes in and wins immediately with his players.

Zook won more SEC games by November of his first year than O did in 3.

Orgeron is nothing like Zook. There are many good threads that explain the appeal of coach O as HC. OP should read and educate himself on the subject

He is worse. Zook took illinois to the Rosebowl. That will never happen with coach zero.

The frick? You're right. Zook had a much better resume than Orgeron.
What is the appeal of coach ogre as hc? Surely you're not referring to him getting Kiffin? He needs two all start coordinators. Aranda may leave and follow Herman to UT. Then what? Oh, we need to hire an all start DC. (not easy to find) Kiffin may leave after one year because he'll get a better gig. He has been known to do that. Oh, another all star needed.

good point. the OP was in reference to zook's hiring and tenure at florida
