Was going to say he turned down Texas last year for Kansas, but that was Cumbie

Texas State boards had him in the mix for their HC job last year. Also, Roger Klarvin claimed he had info that DM was lined up to be A&M's OC until something at the last second scuttled the deal which led to us hiring Mazzone instead.

I have the scoop on this. Apparently, Patterson turned playcalling rights over to Cumbie exclusively. Meacham and Cumbie were CO-OCs. Meacham was very upset about this new decision and wanted out asap.

For a 2-22 program, would appear to be a good move. For DM, not so much.
