Y’all go ahead and keep sleeping on this man. He is a better coach than everybody listed.
He would dominate at LSU.

One of the main reasons Napier is even in consideration is because of how he brought his team into Ames and beat the second best team in the Big 12 last year by 17 points.

I would be thrilled with this hire. I do prefer Riley, or Aranda, personally, but I agree. Campbell would do well at LSU.

Aranda is a better on-field coach. I know matt campbell fanboys will deny this, but ask yourself this question: would you rather matt campbell in charge of your offense or dave aranda in charge of your defense? For me, it's an easy answer. We've never seen matt campbell put out an elite offense. Aranda, on the other hand, has consistently put out elite defenses for a decade.
Both guys are excellent development coaches.
Both guys have some recruiting question marks.
So again, please tell me what makes campbell definitively better than aranda.

I’d absolutely hire Dave to run my defense but I’d hire Matt Campbell to run my program.
He’s built two different programs while Dave still has the training wheels on at Baylor

Aranda has beaten him this year and Napier beat him last year. He is better than BoB though. He has lost against Baylor, Texas Tech, and West Virginia this year. If he is a better coach, then it’s not very certain.

Because Dave Aranda is older than Matt Campbell and yet has only been a head coach for two years. And the first year he was a head coach they went 2-7.
Matt Campbell is 41 years old and he's essentially maxed out two programs. First at Toledo, and now at Iowa State. Campbell has been courted by both the Lions and the Jets in the NFL but turned both of them down, meaning he's a college coach who'd stick around if he got to a destination job like LSU.
You're talking about a guy who's been a successful head coach for a decade at two different schools vs. a guy who's only having his first good season as a head coach this year.
I'm not hating on Aranda, but if I'm the AD I need to make the most sure-thing hire I can here, and Campbell has a better record of maxing out what's possible where he's been. We all know what that is at LSU - the last two boneheads we've had coaching here did it.

He outcoached Aranda in that game this year btw. Purdy just sucks. He has squeezed the most he can out of that lemon.
