Does Aranda really have the HCIW in his new contract?

If so, that actually gives some hope for the future. The Zero experiment will crash and burn next season.

Don’t really care. The new AD is going to hire one of his guys most likely.

No. He does not.

Orgeron is trying to be here for 10-15 years (not trying very hard)

So there is no HCIW on paper at all for one of his assistants

that is highly unlikely. We can not afford to add Aranda to the long list of former LSU coaches receiving buyout payments. There is no guarantee he doesn't leave if he isn't offered the position.

The only way Aranda is ever head coach of LSU is if Alleva is retained. If Aranda leaves, LSU does not owe him a buyout.

Nothing this school has done has made economical sense. They keep paying huge buyouts to get worse coaches in place.

We aren't in the economic business.

I understand that, trust me. But we are talking about a new AD....which is kind of the point.

Plus, losing Aranda in any capacity would not be good. I have to think it would be an easy and appropriate hire that 99% of the fans would back.

No he does not have a HCIW. That would be dumb. It only works to keep someone from leaving to be a HC by promising them the HC job in a couple years when the HC retires/dies. The current HC has to be cool with that obviously. In what world would CEO be cool with that? He was just hired last year.

no he didn’t. Wade reached out to LSU in Johnny’s second to last year when the team was in the middle of quitting on him.

Love or hate Hanagriff and Ott, but the reported Wade’s interest in the job almost a year before he was hired. Alleva had very little to do with “bringing in” Wade.

Then make him HC now. End all of the other nonsense and I’m serious.

Someone mentioned that Aranda has a "Right of First Negotiation" for HC in his contract. That's probably the same as what people think of as "HCIW."

Once his contract becomes public I'd like to read it and think about it.

Yep it has been reported by TOS. It’s not the traditional HCIW, just kind of a promise that he will be candidate #1 when the time comes. I am starting to think Dave might actually come around to wanting the job which was not the case when he got here.

You can't put HCIW in contracts. NCAA rule. If you do he can't recruit anymore.

I swear 99% of the people on this site don't know anything about college football rules.

How else do you think they convinced him to be a part of the shite show that is currently the LSU football program?

Would it have been possible to add in a clause saying if he went to another SEC school they’d have to pay X amount?
