2007 season and our offense was more "modern" than our offense has been in the past couple of years. We were power run but we did it out of different formations and spread our receivers out. What happened???

Looking back, Perrilloux should have seen more playing time. He doesn't get credit for taking that team to the NC game by beating Tennessee.

Yes. The offense looked great in 2007 with 5th Yr Sr. Matt Flynn directing the attack. Fr. Jarrett Lee in 2008 couldn't execute it as well. Les freaked out with all of the pick-6's, delays, penalties, etc. When he fired Crowton and turned the offense over the to Stud is probably what began Les' long, slow demise. 2011 bought him a few years but as we all know, we were a "running team" on O by then.

Miles felt the seat getting warm in '08, and he changed philosophy.

LSU became one of the safest offensive teams in college football. In fairness, Miles won a lot of meaningless games in that span, but the Lesticles era died.

If Miles had turned the offense over to an established OC, LSU could still be among the absolute elite in the game.

Wrong. Maybe 2009. The keys were fully taken away from crowton AFTER 2009 when JJ could not run all his formations. That's when miles ran what he wanted from 2010 onward. Miles had input prior to 2010 but he really changed and took over with his style as was obvious to educated fans. It was confirmed also by ex lsu players when we were making the switch to 100% les ball in 2010.

I'll go back and check it out. But if we did run a play from the pistol it wasn't like we did in 2007. All year long. Remember crowton was de nutted after 2009.

Wait? The gun????? As in shotgun??? I'm not discussing shotgun. You said we ran PISTOL in 2010. That's the discussion. PISTOL is not shotgun.
