Just curious.
A lot of fans of LSU opponents (myself included) were glad to see Miles staying at LSU. I think that Miles is a mediocre coach and that LSU could do much better.

What do the majority of LSU fans think?

i want him 100%. we all thought we could do better than Saban when he left and we got Miles. I'm not that unrealistic to think that we'd land a better coach if he left.

i just wish that lsu fans would let Miles handle the situation and stop trying to force the situation. I'd much rather have a coach that somebody wants at the end of every year, than have a coach that nobody wants.

I don't know. I would put my money on Nutt in that race. However, I think it would be a close race.

I like him, though I admit he had to grow on me. We could possibly do better, but I'm not sure who that is that's realistic right now. Long as he doesn't pull a Dinardo and pick bad assts., I say keep him.

If we are 33-6 in spite of Les then let's continue to be in spite of Les! I have no problem with that. (And please don't resort to that Saban's players crap; if you must, first overcome how Les has done better with Saban's players than Saban did.)

Truth be told, LSU could do better.

But i want Miles to stay. What's sad is he is very underrated coach. You can have all the talent in the world and not play in the BIG GAME. Look at TN, AU, FL, hell even ARK this year. There is not a HUGE talent difference that people make it out to be. The talent just needs to be experienced in some key areas and you can make a run.

FLA next year will be that team.

Miles surrounds himself with great coordinators and would be stupid not to.

If anything, i think Miles is very UNDERRATED.

Because like the rest of the SEC, think he just wins b/c of the talent. Yet, he keeps beating all the coaches with the same type of talent and more conference wins and has an SEC title. And don't tell me any coach can come in with this talent and win. They may can win 7-8 games based on talent, but not 10-11 like Miles has done almost every year.

All these fans wanting Miles to leave will be the first to bitch when a new coach comes in and loses 3-4 games in his first year.

People assume that a new hire would be a "better" coach.

Just look at how many coaches these programs have gone through in the last 15 years and see where they are at now...

Alabama
Notre Dame
Miami
Nebraska
UCLA

some pretty heavy hitters, huh?

Better??? Better how??? Look at what is going on right now in the college coach search for all these schools!!!
Mich = 0
Ark = 0
Wsu = 0
Hous. = 0
I mean how can we do better when some of these schools can't even get a mid-level coaches to come over??? ie Mich & Ark????

I think we are very lucky to have him....is he the best in the nation...NO but you know what I put him in the top 5-6...
I am glad he is staying!

WRONG!! I would take Miles every day over the week over Nutt. Nutt was there for 10 years and won ZERO SEC titles. Last year was his best chance to do that and he blew it. Nutt had a chance this year and no improvement. Hell, they were worse. They beat LSU and rightfully so.

Les Miles does not coach defense. How was he going to stop McFadden this year?

Where has Les Miles failed that Nutt hasn't?? Nutt has had more than enough time to recruit a QB and has not.

Nutt has always been a QB away from being a good coach. He never could get it done. He had an older/experience team last year with alot of talent and could not win an SEC title.

I'd say there's only a very, very small chance we could do better, but a huge one we could do worse. He needs to stay, but the world will not end if he doesn't.

So, as a fellow SEC-Wester, you guys are cool with us winning your division 66% of the time, the SEC 33% of the time, the NC 33% of the time, only losing 2 games a year, and finishing #5, 3, and 1 in the nation? Masochists, are we?

LSU could've done better back in 2005 and could do better now. The question is, how much better would another coach be if Leslie wins next month? I don't think it can get much better than a NC.

Actually I don't think that would be a bad hire at all. He might end up being a better HC than DC. He is a great recruiter and an angry black man is just what Michigan needs to change its soft image.
