No, he is to immature, all those 4 down squanders did it for me , he is not ready for SEC football.

Kiffin would destroy this Napier you speak of and Kiffin is hurting his team with this same immature play.

Don't want, there is better out there, much better, proven coach's in top level collage football that we don't have to wait and see if they mature enough to become a top level coach.

You make the assumption that the program is in the same shape that it was when Miles and Ogre took over. It is not even close to the being in that condition and is as bad or worse than when Saban took over. It would take Saban 2 - 3 years to fix this shite. So thinking that a Tier 2 coach will easily get us another ring is beyond optimistic right now,

Bull fricking shite.

This is such a typical boomer statement. With transfer portal and NIL, you can have this team back to SEC West contention in one year.

NIL? AL's QB is getting a million/year while Brennan got a truck.
Transfer Portal? Are all the 4 and 5 star starters from Top 10 programs going to be available?
Your comment is naive, at best.

Agreed. We’re really bad across the board.

Nobody said anything about being bad across the board. People need to temper their expectations unless Saban, Urban, Riley, Dabo, Jimbo walk through the door. Those type of coaches with their names connections will attract the talent, coordinators and assistants. The others will take more time.

Of all the names mentioned, the only one I would be deeply disappointed in would be BOB with Franklin a close second. However, if either is hired I'm not going to skyscream and start angry Fire Woodward threads. I'll take a wait and see approach, hope for the best but prepare for the worst, and wait until thing shake out before I lose my mind.

The collective butthurt this man is causing people on this board is astounding. He would do exceptionally well here. I don’t understand the absolute hatred let out when you bring up his name. I think he would do better than Orgeron and Miles’ tenures

i think he is a great coach, but.........

the sun belt isnt the SEC and that is my only question mark with him. can he do it in the SEC where the level of skill and competition is light years ahead of the sun belt

If LSU wanted this “man”, they could already have him.

The only butthurt stuff I see going on is with those who, for whatever the reason, want to push the idea Billy is a Saban clone and worthy of the LSU job even though he hasn’t come close to accomplishing anything of note in the college football

The butthurt comes from the fact that he's coaching the team in Lafayette. There are people on both sides that just can't get over the fact that these teams for the most part just play different levels of football. He wins where he is with the talent he has. I don't know if he can recruit with the big boys and that's my only concern just because he hasn't had the opportunity. He can't pull big time recruits to Lafayette but he has definitely upped the talent level they would get in the past. His teams do play hard and don't seem to quit. I really feel like there will be teams a few years from now that will really wish he was their coach.

I think any competent coach can win a ship at LSU. The problem is keeping it going.

I honestly don't know. I've watched several of their games this year. Dude keeps finding a way to eek out wins but he makes some dumb arse in game decisions.

OP’s upvote/downvote ratio proves that the anti-Napier crowd is a very loud minority

We need some more coaches to be fired, or else this can be renamed the Napier & Tucker Board.

The last three coaches at LSU have. I think Napier winning a NC is no great stretch.

Lewis has a very low ceiling, and has an attitude about being a "running" QB...
