Good news is that if it goes bad, we get another iteration of the coaching changes board sooner

No. Thats definitely not ideal. If you dont trust Woodward to conduct the search and maje the hire, then you let him go and hire a new AD.

Well to become a millionaire or billionaire you have to have a lot of business sense.Accept if you are G.Benson and a gold digger. The point is these are very smart people who won’t make decisions without getting a lot of advice from knowledgeable college football sources. They didn’t get rich by making stupid Decisions.

To be fair, if they're the ones ponying up the cash, I know I'd want to be included.

In 1986, Bill Arnsparger announced his decision to retire. The BOARD OF SUPERVISORS was in charge of the search. Archer was DC and the players loved him. Steve Spurrier was at Duke and interested in the LSU job. They flew Spurrier in for an interview and allegedly left him at the BR airport without ever interviewing him. Archer was named HC. Spurrier never forgot. He beat the crap out of LSU for over a decade. See worse loss in Tiger Stadium 58-3. Keep politics out of it. Have people with KNOWLEDGE of the coaches and what their peers say. Coaches talk to each other. The information is out there. The BOS has no idea what is being said in the coaching circles….

The ones paying the bills usually call the shots. Right or wrong, that's the way it works.

I would also imagine they do not want to throw out ludicrous money for somebody who isnt worth ludicrous money. They may not want to even be involved in the interview process and everything but the contract and language? I would want to as well especially if youre hiring an unknown to SEC ball. Because why pay all this money for somebody's who's never swam in the deep before.
