I have never heard of this combination before. I guess in theory a good DL coach should have great knowledge of how to install and coordinate a run game to attack a DL. Has anyone else ever heard of this coaching set up?

I think it’s defensive run game but I haven’t heard of that either. That’s the DC’s job. May have been an extra title with more pay to lure him to BR.

It’s becoming pretty common and the logical assumption is it refers to defensive run game coordinator, not offensive.

ETA: And as the poster above mentioned, likely a title to justify more money.

I think Elston had that job title for Kelly at Notre Dame.

BK giving upgraded titles to quality coaches to get them on staff instead of hiring unknowns to run the offense and defense for massively inflated salaries?

Sounds like a plan to me.

very refreshing to hire a coach and the first thing out of the head coaches mouth won’t be “I talked ta Pete….”

To be honest, if your expertise is coaching a specific position group you probably know the best ways to exploit said position group.

Never really heard of that combo before but it wouldn’t be a far stretch to think it could work *if* we are talking offensive run game coordinator.
