Can we put him back on the hot seat, please? He's had one winning season in seven years. This season, the second half collapse started two weeks ago. The expectations at Syracuse are low as hell after decades of sucking, yet he continues to fall short. Nice guy, terrible coach.

You’re not wrong but even though the second half of the season has been bad, this is still his most successful campaign so far. Should at least buy him another year

I understand that he has never broken through, but who can Syracuse hire that can realistically do a better job?

This is only the second season Babers has won more than 2 conference games in 7 years at Syracuse. I don't buy that there are no realistic options available who could do better.

Hell, they should see if Doug Marrone is willing to come back home. He's younger than Dino anyway.

It isn't. Syracuse was 10-3 in 2018 when Eric Dungey was a senior quarterback.

Eric Dungey was the main reason for the 2018 season. The kid brought it every Saturday.

I like Doug and thought he was doing a nice job building the program. But the administration refused to spend any money and then the NFL came calling. Bye, bye Dougie.

Didn’t realize Syracuse has expectations through the roof

Wanting better than a .300 conference winning percentage are "expectations through the roof"?

Schwartzwalder went over 20 years without a losing season and won a national championship. MacPherson and Pasqualoni had decade-plus runs there with some pretty good teams that played in major bowls.

Syracuse has a respectable football tradition. I don't understand why people think they should just accept the results they have been getting in recent years.

More than one winning season in seven isn't a high bar. Going to a bowl game most years at 7-5 or 8-4 isn't either. We don't expect to be in the playoffs. But winning regularly, with an occasional double digit winning season, ain't that far-fetched.

because they have not shown the willingness to put in the effort needed to compete. they dont have to go all texas A&M but they need to atleast be spenging the average for a p5 school when it comes to recruiting.

they dont. they spend half of what fricking duke, yes duke, spending on recruiting.

they have dog shite facilities and have not shown any desire to upgrade them.

so if the school shows no desire to even be average why are you pissed when they are not even average/

when you actually go back and analysis their spending vs peers and the results they are getting...pretty clear Dino is punching way above his weight class.

when you spend the least amount in the conference on recruiting and have some of the worst facilities....yes it is an extremely high bar.

tell your school to fricking get real and start spending the money or stfu!!

I get the feeling football isn’t very important at Syracuse. They still play their home games in a converted basketball arena

Incorrect. The Ensley practice facility was buit in 2015 for $14 million. $120 million was spent in the last two years on renovations of The Dome, with at least another $20 million coming. Recruiting budgets are middle of the road.

2019-20 spending (and national rank): $27.7 million (45th in the country)

2018-19 spending (and national rank): $28 million (43rd in the country)

Who is No. 1? Florida State, $67.8 million

Where does SU rank in the ACC? 7th. Florida State leads at $67.8 million.

Don't be an a-hole. Especially when you're just making shite up.

Uh, The Dome was purpose built for multiple sports, like football, basketball, lacrosse, etc. It's never been a basketball arena only.

i didnt say overall spending, i said recruiting budget and it was under 700k for the last report i could find which is last in the ACC. i didnt make shite up, you did.

literally half of what fricking duke spends.

again you are the school in the worst position recruiting wise. You have great history but you need to be spending more than others to even be close to competing.

nobody is being an a-hole. your school doesnt care about football. you spent 27 million which is 7th in the conference, yes that is more than you ever have and you are finally allowing for bigger staff budget and analyst but you are way behind the 8 ball.

you only made 42.5million which put you 9th in the conference. LINK

you will prolly win atleast 1 out of the last 3, which would put you winning 7 games. what more can you expect?

top 50 in recrutuing budget LINK

average spending in your conference on recruiting is 1.13, duke spent 1.3...ole syracuse $640,519....only school in the acc to spend less than the p5 average and happens to be one of the furtherest from recruits LINK

but you mad when you only win 6 games.

oh and its cool you are upgrading facilities because you had the worst in the ACC. but guess what, by the time you are done, will be outdated compared to peers.

look i want syracuse to be good, i like the school and its tradition. problem is, syracuse isnt willing to spend what it takes to be good.

you talking about a school that spends 5million on mens and womens lacrosse but only 650k on recruiting.....

come on man.

You do know that the link you provided gives numbers from the 2013-14 season, right? That was Syracuse' first year in the ACC when those numbers came out. The school wasn't even getting ACC money at the time. The numbers I listed are from a 2021 article. We don't spend half as much as Duke nowadays, our spending is a couple of spots above them. Like I said, our spending is middle of the road in the ACC and nationally.

SU’s overall recruiting expenses, $1.1 million, was below both the Yellow Jackets’ and Cavaliers’.

LINK

latest i could find was 18-19 and you still only spent 1.1, but that recruiting across the board so the 650k makes perfect sense when talking just football. You got a link proving you correct?

rutgers spends more on recruiting in football(1 million) so why do you think syracuse should be better than them when they are in a recruiting hot bed and have penn and ohio closer?

here is top 20 from 2021 LINK

many of the schools on the list are already in recruiting hot beds are very close to them. If syracuse wants to compete in the acc for division championships it will need to be spending top 10 minimal and as much as they are spending on facilities over next 10 years....committ half that amount to NIL.

sorry but the facts are the facts.

not sayign dino is the long term answer but he has done about as well as could be expected and has actually gotten the admin to raise spending levels.
