It sure looks like he did. Or worse, Orgeron misled Alleva as to him having Kiffin in the fold.

This means that Orgeron was gullable, or misled Alleva, or that Kiffin is the scumbag most think he is.

I am inclined to think Kiffin mislead Orgeron.

If Kiffin ends up at LSU, we will want to root for him in support of our Tigers.

If not, there is a side of us that should be relieved he is not a part of our future.

Question; why does everyone KNOW that O being hired hinged on Lane being hired?

my guess is if Lane said anything it was we will talk later but I want to be a HC first and will explore all those options first.

HC offer is better than OC offers...why are some of you so paranoid and believe everything is a conspiracy?

Coming to that conclusion is dependent on you believing that other people's characterization of things allegedly said by O is true.

Why not stick with what is known to be true and do less of that other stuff?

This right here. They're friends. I don't think Lane would outright lie to Orgeron. He wants to be a head coach and he should be.

Alleva is dumber than we think if he operated under the assumption that Lane was a lock to us. Obviously thats true from his press conference when he lauded Os coaches he was bringing in. Hard to argue Helfrich was the name mentioned being that he was still a head coach.

Lane is in talks was FAU now. Sounds like a guy who isnt exhausting every opportunity available to be a head coach? If we are to believe Kiffin was the name mentioned, him coming to us would be announced by now.

I keep hoping for a semblance of competency from either of these guys and I am having a difficult time.

Yes.

Especially if he settles on the FAU job. Cooked that up as a thank you to Saban for giving him cred once again

Not necessarily- Being the highest paid OC can be more than some mid-level schools, obviously.
But back to Kiffin, he always had a bad reputation, why would anyone NOT think he would screw us, especially in some allegiance to Saban? As time goes by, I get more concerned that he has no intention of coming to LSU. Besides, long term, would we better served by some OC looking to build a reputation as oppose to someone ready to jump to a head coach job as soon as the weather changes? I just hope we have some serious alternatives in mind!
