Did Coach O get HC interest anywhere after his interim gig at USC?

I remember a lot of people being upset that he didn't get the USC full time job, but did he get any offers or interviews elsewhere after that? I know he ended up taking the year off from coaching, but was that because no one wanted to hire him or that he felt above the schools that showed interest in him?
Honestly, this is one of my biggest concerns with Coach O. Obviously, he can still prove to everyone why he deserves this job, but it always seemed weird to me that no one hired him right after USC.

Zero! But give him the LSU gig based on two wins and a few press conferences.

yes that year was a crazy year for schools with new head coaches. i have no proof but old articles i read but Texas passed on him for Charlie Strong because of his better resume as an HC. he was also linked to louisville, Penn State, and Vandy. every offseason seems like some team is calling him. last year Syracuse for the HC and the year before that it was Arkansas and rutgers for the DC job.

Even if O finishes with a flurry , it doesn't tell us anything regarding building and maintaining an elite program.
But hey, he's from LA. We good. "Where's my t-shirt and keys to the four-wheeler". Yaw yaw football

I've not seen any of this.
I did see that he was lobbying for the Syracuse job last uear, but didn't get a interview.

i'm trying to find where i seen it now. it could of been Coach O making it seems like all these schools are after him to make it look like he is wanted i'm not sure but i do know it was around the time he said he will not leave LSU unless it was for a Top 5 HC job. thats when i thought the guy didn't have it all.

Knee jerk LSU fans are SO freaking happy with the result so far that they're actually calling for an assistant coach to hold one of the best jobs in the country full time. No consideration that it's simply how bad a change was needed...no matter who it was...and that SEVERAL assistant coaches could be re-energizing the program like coach O is now. O is an unproven, full-time HC. Great "band aid" as an interim coach, but has failed in the past long term. O wasn't mentioned AT ALL when LM was on the hook last year, yet he's the savior now. Les Miles was just that bad. No disrespect to O, but he's not the long term answer.

Yes, he did receive interest from schools regarding their head coaching vacancies. Allow the downvotes to pile in but I cannot provide the names of those schools. All I can post is yes, he did receive interest from other universities.

Why?

The coach clinic I was at that spring he was talking with Mullen about an offer he had passed because he wanted a better opportunity so that he could prove that he deserved to get the USC job. Not sure what school but he was still pissed about being passed over. I talked to him immediately after about having grown up a USC(w) fan because my grandfather played there, but that I was hoping he'd land a job with the Tigers and wished him well. He mentioned enjoying California but nothing would be better than being in Baton Rouge - shook his hand and walked away.
So yeah someone had been interested, but I'm not sure who

Interviews?
Maybe he did, but that stuff usually leaks pretty quickly.

Why I cannot provide the other school's names? I am not willing to break confidence. Sorry if you cannot understand where I am coming from with this. It is no biggy, but to answer the original question, yes he did receive interest.

I don't see any specific interest from any schools and I read the links and I see no interview granted to him, please link the interviews he did for head coaching positions

quote:No. HE was interested in Syracuse, not the other way around. He hasn't gotten looks anywhere.

He wants a P5 top school job. There are a lot of D2 teams that would take CEO, but his bar is set a lot higher.
