siap, and I know Im supposed to be making "dick" jokes now, but this video of Gruden asking James Harrison about his coaches in Pittsburgh is cool. he talks about Cowher and Tomlin but is speechless when the video of LaBeau comes up

"I miss him"

(ftr, I still think theres maybe a 1 percent chance he comes to LSU)

I don't think there's even a 1% chance, but these threads have been fun and helped me not get a lot of work done.

Great question. Was it the steelers or le beau that decided to part ways? Could be the steelers want new blood.

I don't know about that. In that scenario I'd rather a dick in some bush

Yeah, a dick in the bush is clearly preferred to a hundred in the hand.

Probably been said before, and I do hope we get him (even though it seems fantasy), but his age concerns me that it isn't the long-term solution here.

FWIW, per Ian Rapoport as quoted by Marc Sessler at NFL.com, LeBeau's resignation caught Steelers by surprise:
quote:

NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported on NFL GameDay Morning that LeBeau's resignation caught the Steelers by surprise, per sources involved in the situation.
...
As for LeBeau, his future remains in question. Rapoport noted that both the Titans and Cardinals have emerged as the most likely landing spots if the coach takes another job. With connections to Bruce Arians in Arizona and Ken Whisenhunt in Tennessee, a consulting gig -- if not a coaching role -- looms as the potential next step for the celebrated defensive play-caller.
Elsewhere, the consensus is that LaBeau was forced into retirement, but this report confirms that his departure was voluntary. Not that it makes a damn bit of difference. It is HIGHLY unlikely LSU / The Hat (or any NCAA school) can land this whale.
