Having a TE (assuming Ensminger stays) coach and a dedicated ST coach kind of squeezes the on-field coaching numbers.
If Ensminger stays (and I, for one, hope he does) - I think he moves to shadow staff, not back to TE coach. If we end up keeping Craig and Juluke, one of them can coach the TEs - I agree we need a LB coach and it makes sense - if we're not going to hire Joe Rob - to get one that coaches linebackers - I mean TEs and LBs are the grunts of the special teams.

i wonder how Tennessee would feel next year if we show up to Knoxville with Coach O, Kiffin, and Dooley.

We get an additional on-field coaching position in 2017.
I was not aware of that. Thanks for the info. Makes a little more sense in that case.

This actually makes a lot of sense. Ensminger isn't a big time recruiter, but he did a solid job with the offense and has a ton of experience. Seems like an ideal candidate for that kind of role.

Maybe he prefers the college game. He's a receivers coach in dallas. It's not like he's a coordinator or head coach

This could definitely be a ST hire. His extra 105k monthly check ends this month (December). Position guys in the NFL make around 250 (can't verify) and BDP was making 400k this year. Financially this is very plausible.

why the hell would ensminger want to go to a shadow staff role. i don't think shadow staffers get paid what you guys are acting like they get paid.

We apparently talk to some of the same people, because I heard the exact same about Dooley and Dunbar coming with Jimbo. And I was pretty sure the person was fricking with me, but now that you say this.... Are your initials CR?

I really can't see him taking over as the running back coach.
We cannot replace the running back coach we have now can you imagine Dooley going into the 7th Ward to recruit LOL

Actually, he is really good at that. No, he's not a head coach but a coordinator, you can do worse.
Anything is an upgrade from Damien Craig or Steve Ensminger.

Let's see.....
Derek Dooley succeeded Kiffin at Tennessee.
Now they may be on the same staff.
Could be interesting

He's not coming to LSU. He has lots of family down there.
His kid is a stud at Highland Park in Dallas and he has a cush gig with the Cowboys.

Much more confident than if you only came in with the first two.

So Dooley was the reason we had John Corbello? Worst kicker since I was a kid.
