I keep telling you guys it will be Mark Stoops. Riley, Jimbo, Dabo amd Urban will not bite and Stoops is more qualified and a better coach then both Aranda and Napier.

I’d prefer Aranda and saving the rest of the $$ for whatever Dave wants done.

Are we just assuming that if OU wins out they make the playoffs? The first batch of rankings indicate they're not the most appealing to the committee this year. You have 4 one loss teams ahead of them, plus Cincinnati. I get they'll beat two top 12 teams on their way (if those teams win out other than the OU game), but maybe they take a one loss Pac 12 champ over undefeated OU?? You just never know
And you will see a two loss Alabama team { when Alabama losses to Georgia in the CCG } ahead of OU in the playoff rankings.

quote:Aggy hires LSU guy as AD, AD hires a head coach and gives him an outlandish contract with no buyout clause, AD moves to his alma mater, AD gets chance to hire new HFC, AD eyes guy he literally just hired and for whom he doesn’t have to pay a buyout which oh-by-the-way helps when the guy leaving has a $17M payout coming.
Jimbo is very much in play
No one should be surprised by this.

Neither would be on the $100 million list. Day has done nothing to garnish attention. Kirby is having a championship year but yet to win it.
Keep thinking. The obvious is answer.

Jimbo is a Top tier hire and better than Tucker, Napier and Aranda. He would kill it in recruiting not only in Louisiana and the Panhandle but now in TX. And he runs a stable program and has the connections to bring in the best assistants and coordinators. The guy is a winner and a quicker path back to the top.

Bingo. This guy gets it.

He did imply that some at LSU are meh on Jimbo and the price tag would be north of $10 million, though it’s also clear that the money is there if Woodward wants to spend it.
I don’t mind spending 10 mill for the right coach. Saban, Riley, NFL coach…mediocre jimbo? Hell no.

But for AL freshmen Tua and that Heisman winning WR from Amite, Kirby would already have that championship

I wouldn’t be too excited about Fisher

I agree that would be the white whale SW would want. Saw him in action first hand for 4-5 yrs. could see that happening and allow a smoother transition down the line with a much better “program” in place in all aspects. New found adulation and respect for the process……aight????

Nothing against Jimbo but the more I read about Napier, his father, family etc. I say we Roll the Dice, I mean what is the worst that can happen ? The coaching change board opens back up in a year or so ?? ? I mean I rather take a chance on him "IF" he wants to be here. I thought the guy was from Louisiana or his family was but it looks like they are from GA. and he was born in TN. Does that mean no ties to staying with us ? I don't know ? If he wants to come and does a good job and Won't go to bama when Saban retires then fine with me !

That's it! Lane is the one Woodward will hire. Which is the reason why the smoke is there is little to no interest for Lane.

No thanks. Would rather Aranda or Napier over Stoops. In that order.
Would still rather someone else.

Stoops who’s best team in 8 years just got rolled by Mississippi St? I’ll pass. His fat arse can stay at UK where they’ll give him a statue one day for that.

Woodward doesn’t want Tucker but others at LSU do
That’s because Woodward hires based on qualifications, others just want to feed the woke agenda at the expense of the football program. Thank God for Woodward.
