That's actually very positive for LSU in my opinion.
He explains that he wants no distractions before the Egg Bowl, then says "an announcement on Coach Kiffin's future is expected after the game".
There are already distractions galore right now. The only possible thing that could make those distractions worse for the team is if he announces now that he's leaving. They're waiting until after the game to announce that. Otherwise, if they wanted to tamp down on the distractions, they'd announce now that he's staying.
