Agreed. I don't know why people are acting like the guy sucks. He's a good coach. Recruiting remains to be seen but he has won everywhere he has been. I think Bama made the best possible hire.
Not everyone, but I think the majority doing it are those people. Some people are just trying to frick with Bama fans. It’s funny either way.

He’s only been a head coach in FBs for 4 years. Let’s pump the brakes. If he can survive next year maybe he will make it to year 3

No one is saying Alabama is going to shite, but let’s get real, no one does it like Saban. I repeat, no one does it like Saban. There will be a drop off and this is going to reap a lot of benefits for LSU. Especially with recruiting our state. Just get your popcorn ready

And his first season w/Fresno was Covid year where he went 3-3….that year doesn’t really even count imo. Big gamble on Bama’s part.

Looks more like Urban Meyer. Similar limited HC experience and immediate success. Good offensive coach with a very good OC with him. Unsure how well he will be able to recruit though as he hasn’t really done it at a high level yet. Question will be does he have that kind of success or will he not be able to handle coaching the SEC?
Big time gamble to spend the money they are going to have to spend for him.

I don't care if he is a good hire or not, as long as they suck for about 10 years I'm good with that.

He also coached in a conference where you can have a 17th ranked recruiting class and still be competitive. And judging by UW’s recruiting classes in the past 2-3 years, this guy clearly never had to coach under the pressure of having to land at least top 5 recruiting classes every year. The pressure from the fan base will be too much and he will crack. He also has no connections at Bama whatsoever.
I’ll go out on a limb that say that DeBoar won’t last 2 seasons. He’ll be good, but he won’t be Saban. Bama was better off finding a HC that actually had a connection to the university like Dabo Swinney.
