He escaped the Briles conflict...not sure how, we'll never have the details...but he's the only one to make it out.
Well, him and Phil Montgomery (Briles long time OC) who left the year before and no one tried to tie him into anything.

Sumlin could possibly be waiting to see what opens up in the NFL. Not as a head coach but maybe as an OC or offensive assistant.
Could be waiting to see what happens with Matt Canada if the rumors true that he's out at LSU. If he is gone it's probably going to be someone that Coach O has ties to though.

No trolling...if LSU hires Sumlin, who has only called plays in 8 total games and hasn't called plays since 2002, as its offensive coordinator, the jokes will write themselves.
