ND can afford his asking price plus he has family near South Bend. Kelly may be replacing both Coordinators after the bowl game.

They won’t let him leave. If he drops Denbrock and House stays then Kelly needs to go today

I don’t know how these contract deals work but seems like that just means they can bump his deal up more since BOS hasn’t done anything yet. Also I would think BOS could have a special meeting to get it done.

Perhaps Woodward figured something like this would come up this time of year.

If he leaves it’s on the BOS. You don’t let your best coordinators go and keep your worst one.

They’re not approving until house is gone.

They are waiting to can House and align the contracts together at the next BOS.

It’s a formality but always a risk someone else scoops in to sign him. Is what it is (a business)

Probably going to have to amend the LSU/Denbrock contract before it is officially ratified by the BOS on February 23rd to keep him at LSU.

His family is 2-2.5 hours away in Michigan. His wife's family is from New York. IDK if this is that much of an issue. It's especially not an issue if his kids are settling down in BR.

You can’t get a complete contract together in 2 days. They had to wait for the next meeting to get it approved. Every LSU contract is done this way. Nothing nefarious just the way the scheduled meetings lined up.

Things may go south there fast at ND. Why go work for the guy that used to be your equal. If anything prove it again here and you may end up the head coach at ND.

While true, I do not expect Freeman to get fired from ND for a long time.

Coaches operate under a MOU all the time, sometimes for months, before the formal contract is finalized and signed. People are making this out to be way bigger than it is

The BOS isn’t going to have a special meeting for an oc contract approval. These people are from all over the state and have various jobs. They don’t meet to approve contracts only. This is how it goes for any major state university. In Feb they will sign off on all new football contacts.

You think he's leaving because the board of supervisors wouldn't ratify his verbally agreed upon contract?

BOS has absolutely nothing to do with it.

Exactly. The BOS just rubber stamps the contracts and then it becomes official. There aren’t even any discussions or negotiations by them.
