One could make the argument that Clemson didn't start becoming elite until Venables arrived from Oklahoma, and he has been the real brains behind their success.
But I agree with you. Dabo has proven by now that he knows what he's doing. Hell, everyone was making fun of Clemson after September, and they quietly won 5 straight games, and 7 of their last 8 to close the season.

Please no one take what I’m saying seriously, as I’m a fricking nobody. But I have had a feeling about Dabo for weeks. Again, I know people don’t like him here, it’s just been my uneducated hunch. Also to clarify, I saw elsewhere that he’s recruiting in Jennings, so it’s probably nothing.

I think the difference in Dabo and CEO is the fact that Dabo knows how to hire coordinators. I know a lot of people are put off with his “aw shucks” personality, but he is a helluva recruiter and we could do much worse.

Yeah Dabo is in Jennings. Plane is gonna be in Monroe for a bit this afternoon before going to Lafayette with a stop BR. Worth noting Lafayette isn’t that far from Jennings

I’m looking at it this way: people on TD hate Dabo. Now, imagine you know nothing of this site. LSU hiring Dabo is about the most earth shattering hire possible. Optically, it looks impossible. It would be gargantuan from strictly the hiring perspective. I am not going to get into results or anything, because no one would know for sure. Dabo would clear all of the negative air off of this search in one second.
