I think Bell has some real offensive play-calling talent, so he will land on his feet, but I'd bet he's kicking himself for taking that crap job at UMass

They had a pretty good offense under Mark Whipple and now they can't score for shite w/Bell as HC.

I wonder if it helped him get stabbed in the back, because the interim now is a former UMass player he hired only this year.

Stabbed in the back? He went 2-23 in 3 years. Whipple was at least winning 4 games a season his last two years. Of the 8 losses from this year the closest one was to Rhode Island 35-22. He's killed what little attendance they had and taken their program from a muddy ditch to completely off the cliff.

Washington is official. Jimmy Lake is out.

Neither Lake or Rolovich played each other in the Apple Cup.

You can add Va Tech to the list of schools looking for a head football coach. Justin Fuente was fired this morning. One of the DL Coaches will be interm HC for the rest of the season.

Looking like Cutcliffe may be pushed to retire at season's end.

quote:

David Cutcliffe did so much to pull the Duke program out of decades of irrelevance. And now the program is slipping back, as the Blue Devils (3-6) have a 10-game conference losing streak and face a likely three-year streak without a bowl appearance. New athletic director Nina King already has found a successor for Mike Krzyzewski and faces another potential opening in her first year on the job. Cutcliffe, 67, is beloved and did great work rejuvenating Duke. But retirement looms as a possibility here, as there’s no resounding argument to keep him outside of sentimentality.

You can basically add Matt Nagy and the Bears to the list. He’s essentially a dead man walking at this point. Hell the United Center was chanting “Fire Nagy” at the Bulls game tonight lol. Only question is if the dumbass ownership whacks him mid-season or after the season.

Got AIDS on my computer from FootballScoop.com so you all don't have to:

Seemingly sound report of Sonny Dykes probably landing TCU and then Rhett Lashley maybe tops in line to get the SMU job

could have an effect on Miami, because Lashley's offense was the only thing working there. Diaz' defense sucks and he sucks

Orgeron and Patterson were fired, but if you wish to use other terms, go for it.

NMSU. They just hired Jerry Kill (TCU's interim coach) to fill their HC vacancy.

I remember when he coached SMU in the Frisco Bowl after Chad Morris left with most of the staff saying the players didn't deserve to get bailed on and here he is 4 years later...

I imagine with it being Chad Morris, there was probably some specific way that Morris went about it that was classless.
