The total contract is what he gets paid. His FSU contract is $5mil/7yrs = $35mil
His rumored LSU contract is $6mil/5yrs = $30mil

The LSU contract is $5mil less in total. FACT

you obviously don't get it do ya?

NOne of that is guaranteed. That's why you go by ANNUAL SALARY! 6 million a year IS more than 5! then whatever his buyout is if he is fired before contract ends. You don't think his contract would be renewed if he does well here?

He isn't leaving $5mil on the table. No one would. He isn't coming to LSU for a smaller contract.

Lurker
When his five year contract is up do you think he will just coach for free?

If he got an extension even at the same amount that would bring it up to 42 mil over 7 years

If he does well here his extension will be for more per year.
It's more money any way you look at it man.

with great opportunity for more money in years 6 and 7 at LSU when extension is being worked at. Surely going to pass the 35 million that he would get in 7th year.

Why don't you shut up

He isn't leaving $5M on the table.

The original deal was 7/$35M. He's coached one year, meaning he's looking at 6/$30M.

6years, $30M or 5years, $30M?

What's the better deal?

Do y'all actually believe Sexton is going to let him sign a lesser total contract? The answer is no. The buyout will benefit him too.

Don't forget about the FSU counter offer if they do.

true, but wisconsin was not that good of a team. they went 11-3 but played in a weak big 12 west. Never played michigan or michigan state and they got killed by OSU 59-0 in big 12 title game.

Are you really trying to claim that Wisconsin was not a quality team when they were scheduled? You don't know how the season is going to turn out when you schedule them. And even after that crap and losing their top flight RB they were considered a really good OOC opponent for an opener against Bama this year. So I'm not sure where you are trying to go with that.

I fear this post will land on deaf eyes

It's a better contract lurker (if it is indeed the contract)

No matter how many times you hit that useless M button on your calculator.

Most offenses get shut down by top defenses. That's why they are top defenses

But there aren't a whole lot of top defenses in the nation, and I'll take my chances with a Jimbo offense with a chance to make enough plays to win over the offense we've had that just wants enough plays not to lose

I do see the side of it's a mil more a year, and I didn't think about the year already worked. I see that the $30 = $30 now.

frick you too Fat Bastard. You know as much about the details of the contract as I do. We already know what buyout/guarantee we signed for Miles and the same guy is going to sign this one. I was wrong in what I was thinking before. We all know Sexton will not let him have a contract worth less than what he has signed at FSU.

People on here are giving sexton too much credit. he is a great agent, but at the end of the day it is his client's decision not his. Fisher does have to have sexton "let" him do anything.

I'm not sure. When I get any info I just pass it along. I personally have nothing to provide unfortunately.
