consider for just one moment...
Miles gets absolutely burned by "leaked" info this time last year, and has vowed to keep everything on the vest this time. He has his DC, but the DC has asked not to announce, whether still coaching for bowl, or wants time to talk to others being considered for def. staff who are still coaching, etc. This coincides with Miles' desire to save face for his current assts who will be ultimately replaced, and keeping his decisions private. He realizes that assembling an elite def staff is far more important than to win a 2nd tier bowl game.
Don't you find it ironic that Chavis has interviewed for Clemson, but not taken the job when we haven't heard of other candidates (at least I haven't)? Coach O has a great offer in Tenn, but hasn't taken that job either?
Koenning is a done deal to K state...I think he was waiting for the "coach in waiting" offer to join the DC offer from his mentor, Snyder.
Tenuta is the wild card.
EITHER WAY, TO TRULY BELIEVE THAT MILES GIVES A GOOD shite WHAT WE THINK OR WHEN WE THINK IT IS SUPREMELY ARROGANT OR IGNORANT ON OUR PART. HE IS THE 2007 NC COACH AND HAS EARNED THE RIGHT TO WAIT AS LONG AS HE DAMN WELL PLEASES. HE KNOWS WHAT IS AT STAKE...HE KNOWS THIS IS A DEFINING HIRE FOR HIM.
Cut him some slack, giving the benefit of the doubt, and for just once, trust the guy to do a good job.
GEAUX TIGERS!

Only irrational cry baby belly aching is all they like.
Thanks for the rational thinking.

Since you started a thread with a post you made in another thread, I'll repeat my response.
I tried that when he hired Malveto.

I trust Miles. He gave us Crowton and Pelini. Kinda shite the bed with the two clowns we have now though....he has a chance to make it up.
Honestly, I have a fear lurking that no changes will be made. That is why I keep coming here for any rumors of possible candidates. He'll make the right hire.

How was he "absolutely burned by 'leaked' info this time last year"?

MILES to MICHIGAN ring a bell?

Sorry, I cut Gerry DiNardo (who Miles happened to serve as best man for) some slack after one year of Tepper and all that got me was two years of Tepper and a year of Bob McConnell.
To me, it is not about the wins and losses. It is not even about the embarassment of the blowouts and/or losses/close games to teams that shouldn't be able to stay on the field w/ us (Arky, Troy).
It is about the total lack of leadership, lack of discipline both on (i.e. assignment football) AND off of the field (players out til 2am Saturday prior to a 2:30 kickoff), lack of fundamentals (poor tackling), etc.
It is players screaming at and/or pushing coaches and players screaming at each other and accusing each other of being gutless and/or quiting on the rest of the team. It is about WRs t-rexing catchable balls and not being benched and fat, slow, lazy DEs half-assing
(a.k.a Charles-Grant-ing) it and not being benched because they looked really promising as a sophmore two years ago.
It is about a total lack of control of the football team on the part of the coaching staff.
Changes MUST be made.
Miami/Coker started with this crap. Then they started a fight in the lockerroom tunnel in the GA Dome after the Chik-Fil-A Bowl (against us - coincidence?) and by the next season they were brawling on the field after struggling against an opponent they should have easily handled.
NIP IT IN THE BUD NOW BEFORE WE GO FURTHER DOWN THIS FREAKING ROAD

i trust miles. he got us a NC. if he wants to wait, fans will have to wait. why should miles care about us?

Do you honestly think Miles even knows what the posters of TD.com are saying, much less cares?
You can scream all you want, but no one listens. People will continue to be impatient and complain and when Miles makes the call they will complain some more.
If he hires too fast, he jumped the gun. If he waits too long, he should've hired sooner. You can't please all the people all the time.Unfortunately, the majority of the people that aren't pleased either post here or call 870. Such is life. Get used to it.
