I was going to wait and share my news at a later point, but it seems like now couldn't be a better time. Asked my source straight up today, "what is the progress on Jimbo, and why is O making such a late push?" He responded saying, "Jimbo is still heavily the favorite by a long shot and is still very close to signing, ignore the naysayers, but if O was to win out, it would certainly make it difficult for administration similar to the Miles debacle last year." Take this for what it's worth, but it seems like to me it's 75-25 Jimbo in the lead. Btw, I'm pulling for Jimbo more than ever. O is a great man, but isn't ready to be the face of a program in LSU. Everybody stay cool, it'll all reveal itself hopefully by next week. Geaux Tigers

If getting Jimbo or Herman means we have to lose because our admin is so gutless they can't do that with us winning due to couyon pressure, I would have to be ok with a loss

Thanks for the update. Orgeron is a good coach, don't get me wrong. But O winning just goes to show, anybody with any sense can win here, the program runs itself to a certain extent. We need Jimbo to take us back to the top and beat Alabama and win Championships.

Hiring O would prove the admin has absolutely no vision and they are purely reactionary.

Just told someone exactly the same thing. Shortsightedness doesn't have to be a buzzkill to all these eaux supporters.

He's been posting for about a week. His info jives with the approved insiders

I'd like to see DALSU return. That would be like Christmas

I agree. Alleva can go ahead and start packing his bags if O is hired, I believe. You don't fire the second-winningest coach in school history to hire a d-line coach because he can win games that Miles probably could've won too. I really hope administration is smart about the hire. SMART, not emotional

I don't know if you are an insider, but this sounds like the most realistic scenario. I can't imagine Jimbo Fisher would give us the time of day if he wasn't being told he's the number one choice. But that doesn't mean things won't get hairy if O wins out.

Any non-awful coach would win out though. It makes no sense that it matters

Man, if LSU AD makes a halftime decision again after using the same decision process as last year, there is no hope.

You can't continually make knee-jerk reactions and expect to be successful. It's already blown up once. Put the leg work in and hire the best coach we can get. Simple.
