I'm a veteran of watching leach in the Big XII ... first as O.C. at OU and then during his run at Texas Tech.

If he came to LSU as an offensive coordinator, you guys would demolish the S.E.C.

Your hardest adjustment would be to watch some 6'1" - 6'2" gunslinging Q.B. from some lesser Louisiana Catholic School, who everyone thought was not athletic during recruitment, absolutely spray the football field with passes, as opposed to a 6'5" Mett (pure dropback) or those Run/Pass Q.B.'s you've fielded so successfully over the years.

But I bet you could get used to it real quick-like.

He doesn't need the money, he would position himself to finally win a NC, plus, he puts himself in perfect position to take over one of the greatest football programs out there...it is a win/win and anyone that thinks the alumni couldn't raise enough to pay him $1.5 mil a year is crazy...Miles will eventually go to Meecheegan, it's inevitable, he is a Shembeckler (sp?) clone...

I am ok with the Leach Idea

but how would he and Miles work together?

And the SEC defenses are bigger, stronger and faster than the Big 12...nobody rules offensively year in and year out, the league is too deep

But I am ready for Tiger football to return to somewhat of an offensive show...2007 wasn't to shabby...we averaged almost 35 per game that year..

Bring on an offensive minded coach! Please!

Which is why he wouldn't work at LSU. We're going to have like 5 power backs on the roster next year. Miles likes pro sets and is run oriented first...

His philosophy would conflict with Miles immediately and he has baggage with him. His philosophy directly conflicts with the major problem LSU has now; no identity on offense. LSU recruits guys for a pro and spread offense. They need a system that is pure and they can recruit everyone to it. Pro set would make the most sense with Miles philosophy with HEAVY running.

And BP never said anything about Miles contacting him, he just said he THINKS he would be his first choice. THINKS being the key word...

Partly why all the retards on these boards flamed BP last year was because they took what he said out of context and ran with it...

Of course you probably got to quit locking concussed players in tool sheds to get another crack at being a HC at a BCS school....either that are step back down to be a coordinator for a few years. Get us a top 20 offense and he can lock em in Mikes cage as far as I care.

End of discussion!

I'm not sure why people don't believe he wouldn't use a running back...he never had a cupboard of talent like he would get at LSU....mix the run with his passing game...OMG!!!

miles likes to pound the rock. leach loves to chuck it around. what would leach say the first time les starts to dictate the offense? this sounds great on paper but makes no sense when you start thinking about philosophies and personalities.

this will never happen. book it.

I think that Leach is smart enough to figure out that a running game is a must in the SEC. As far as the personality clash between the two goes, well, winning cures a lot of things.

you really think a legit genius like Leach couldn't integrate that into his offense?

He never had the RBs we have here at Tech

hell, he never had a QB like Mett at Tech.. and he only had one real WR ever

Miles shouldn't care how we win as long as we win.

its not like he was racking NCs with his passing offense without a need to adapt. it is what it is- a passing offense. it does more with less.

heres another dirty little secret about leach's offense: it doesnt beat good teams. they blow out cupcakes(something we dont do around here), but every time they play a team with real athletes- the pass gets shut down and they cant move the ball

leach was 5-15 against OU and UT during his time at texas tech. real defenses arent scared of leach's spread.

i believe this is somewhat mis-leading...living in Texas, we watched almost every TT game...he scored on these teams, the problem, TT was out scored...he didn't have the ability to recruit the needed athletes for a good defense...a couple years ago when they lost 1-2 games, he had a better defense...give him an SEC style defense that can stop the other team. he will blow out some of the better opponents as well

This should be a prerequisite for the OC job.

LSU's offense was fricking pathetic and if it didn't offend you as someone who loves loffensive football, you shouldn't be the OC

So, that's a good thing for Leach...

and LSU
