I wish nothing but the best for him either way. One of my favorite LSU coaches ever.

I believe its viewed more favorably showing you can run a whole program. Looks better on paper however coordinators are highly regarded for sure. Tulane is a great first HC gig that could lead to top 5 offer

It is viewed more favorably. I know that you don't necessarily need the HC experience to get a power job but if he went to Tulane or Memphis for a couple of years....keeps those programs going he could likely get more offers than had he stayed at LSU. And if Baker goes to either program and bombs he can easily get another DC job. If Baker wants to be a HC it would be wise to start sooner than later. Again, Tulane and Memphis are already established G programs so its not like he has to build a program from nothing.

Yeah but if he goes to Tulane and achieves success, bigger jobs will come calling, also. And in the meantime he'll make more $$$ as HC of Tulane.

If Baker and Tulane want each other then fine, but make a damned decision. Not only is it causing us uncertainty, Tulane is having a terrible recruiting season and I’m sure that not having a coach has a lot to do with it.
Baker also needs to realize that the cupboard will be bare over there.

saga can't go on past the early signing period and cost LSU these defensive recruits because they don't know who their position coaches will be.

LSU signed the Number 1 DL in the nation.

I think the recruiting class will be fine even if Baker/Tulane decides that Saturday or Monday is the time announce the decision.

Tulane is focused on their conference championship game and probably don't want that to be overshadowed right now and draw coaches and players focus away. Or some shite like that.

What? No we didn't. It wasn't great but its the usual 3* guys we get. We tend to do better in the portal then high school recruiting.

You are sounding like Ole Miss fans.

Yeah they said that they weren't likely to make a decision before the game. Waiting to Saturday or Monday will not hurt either program.

We may not know where Baker is with Memphis or Tulane, but Baker and LSU are aware. Baker is either negotiating with one of these schools or he isn't. If he isn't, he'll be back next year. If he is then time will tell.

Title could be, Kiffin does his job.

But no one can blame Kiffin or Verge if Baker goes to the Tulane job. Its his shot at HC, and at where he played of all places. How often do opportunities like that line up this way?

I know im not supposed to want it to happen, but it makes a lot of sense for Tulane to pull him home. I would be surprised if they didn’t pursue making him an offer.

Rumor is he wants to see what the NiL commitment will be from Tulane. Tulane may also be worried about another coach looking for a stepping stone. Anyone's guess but sure hope he stays with LSU for another year or two.

What I meant by bad recruiting year and bare cupboard is that Tulane's recruiting class is ranked #73.

We don't normally have 'great' recruiting classes. We do well with the portal.
