Heard his name at one point early on. Was there ever anything more than he didn’t want to come out of retirement?

Outside of one year in 1992 at Pitt, he’s never coached east beyond Idaho. Zero chance

no reason he wouldn’t be announced by now

Everyone's argument is that he would've already been announced.

I'm not so sure it's that simple and think he's on the table

I hope you’re right. Would love it above all other names mentioned previous through now.

I don't think anyone knows. As far as I know he hasn't been asked or said anything about the LSU job. He's still involved with UW in some capacity, but I'm still hoping. Of course that job is also open, so he could always go back there if he wanted to coach again.

His Scientology beliefs would be well respected by the boosters around the state.

I agree.

I highly doubt he's 'wrapped up' in contracts with Fox Sports. He can leave when he wants.

I always sort of took him as a west coast guy, he just seems to be happy there and he stepped away from coaching on his own. He just got tired of it, evidently.

I do think he's a great coach though.

I don't see it being him and it would've been announced. Bob Stoops got out of his whatever you want to call it with Fox on Friday.

Geez, talk about a rollercoaster.

When I search Chris Peterson and Scientology, tigerdroppings keeps showing up for nearly 15 years, and pretty much nothing about it outside of message boards. I also see some other sites noting it’s a different Chris Peterson who is an influential Scientologist, not the coach. So I don’t think there is a lot of to say he’s a Scientologist, outside of posts on tigerdroppings
