I had a feeling when the aubies got rid of tubervile that something like this would happen. What kind of top tier coach (tubervile already is imo) would go into that snake pit.

I'm not buying it because I don't think any higher-up at Auburn could possibly be that damn stupid.
Get rid of a damn good coach in Tubs to bring in a guy who holds a career head coaching record of 5-19 in his two years at Iowa State? No chance in hell.

Yeah right... Great DC, has not proven much as a HC.
I think Grobe, Johnson and maybe Gardner (due to his recruiting prowess and experience under Pat Dye, Fulmer, Ritch and extensive connections).

Exactly, you fire a guy who was one of the most underrated coaches in the country and replace him with a guy who had a few good years as a DC at texas, he hasnt done shite at Iowa State and might not ever.

Pretty funny that LSU fans are making fun of Auburn. We hired Les Miles after Nick Saban left us. We were the laughing stock of the SEC at that point. In many respects, we still are.

This is one of those friend of a friend deals, but when LSU played South Carolina a friend of my wifes shows up with a new boyfriend. Auburn alum nice guy and from what i found out later his family donates a shitload of money to Auburn. All the dude talked about was that if they got rid of Tubs Gene Chizick was the man they wanted. They loved him from his time as Auburn DC. When i mentioned the shitty job he was doing at Iowa State his answer was, "So what its Iowa State nobody can win there."

yeah the isu ad claims chizic interviewed for the job. the espn auburn site is now claiming chizic is the leader for the job.
i'd be pretty dissappointed if i was an au fan...i know the dude's at isu, but he's yet to prove anything.

I wonder how bad off McCarney (sp?) left that ISU program. a couple of years ago Chizic was the hot Muschamp. I hope he is as bad as some of you guys are saying. I have watched a few ISU(Big12) preseason preview shows this year and the only thing that stood out was that he seemed to have a boring personality. Can anyone that knows a little more about him, Aubies maybe, dispute that?
