He lost to a coach we fired. If he can't beat Miles, you expect him to beat Saban? That's just dumb.

No it's dumb to assume that the transitive property applies here without examining any of the circumstances.

I mean by that logic we must assume any coach who lost to miles can't beat saban, which is not true. On the flip side any coach who ever beat Saban means they can beat Miles, which is also not true.

Your logic is flawed.

Eta: im not too keen on Kelly, but this argument is just flat out bad.

No one is a sure thing.

I honestly don't know who they should hire. Anyone who thinks they know is wrong. No one. No one knows.

It's a crap shoot. I don't think Kelly is the guy. Others will have their hearts broken if Jimbo or Herman isn't hired. Truth is, it's all just a guess.

Right, but you can mitigate risk based off a coach's resume. Kelly has a pretty impressive college record. The guess work comes in when you try to figure out if it would translate to lsu.

Finally someone who isn't a novice at football. Chip's defenses sucked for a reason. Count his championships. It won't take long.

He was a hc for 4 years and won the pac 10 3 times. Won 2 bcs bowls and played for a national championship.

Chip Kelly is a good enough coach to have taken a talent depleted Eagles team and turn them into a playoff caliber team twice.

... but Cajun food is pretty good, so...
