Navy, 7-2, is a good team, top of the West Division of the American Conference. Loss to SMU is understandable because his players probably knew he is gone after this season and lost focus for the game. A good coach can expect to lose once in a while. Ask Saban who lost to UAB in his first year as Tiger coach in 2000.
Can you explain O's 0-8 Ole Miss record against SEC teams in 2007, the program's first winless (conference) season since 1982 ? or
Can you explain Fisher's 24-38 loss to UH in the 2015 Peach Bowl? or 20-63 loss to Louisville or loss to NC this season?

After Houston lost to SMU i still went on record saying I wanted Herman even after 6-6.
SMU SHOULD be a bowl team next year. Hell, they may make one this year.
