Claiborne, Reid and TM7 made Ron Cooper look a lot better than he is. That didn’t count the other 3 DBs that played in the NFL from the team that made him seem like an all world coach.

That crew did for him what Brett Farve did for Curley Hallman

Ron Cooper is one of the best secondary guys around, but rep as a lazy/weak recruiter. Excellent coach tho

Almost everything about the Chief's final years at A&M were shitty, including the secondary

Price is staying at A&M IMO. He has stayed very active recruiting for us the last few weeks compared to guys like Chief Moorehead McKinney and Cooper who are clearly gone.

What a rantarded statement. He was just gifted several all-world DBs who didn’t need any coaching whatsoever? And that’s totally ignoring his successful tenure at SC.

If Raymond were somehow to leave, my first call would be to Cooper.

Go back and watch combine statements of Patrick Peterson and Mo Claiborne. Scouts picked there techniques apart while raving about abilities. Said coaching could fix that really quickly. Chavis even made the statement about Coopers lack of teaching technique after Cooper left LSU.

Do you remember how bad 09 defensive backfield was. It improved throughout 2010 as the young talent I mentioned blossomed.

I'll admit that at first I was pissed at the way that Chief left LSU. Still pissed that he was out recruiting for aTm before the smoke from the bowl fireworks had cleared...

But it has become very apparent that Chief is a really good DC when he is surrounded by superior talent and position coaches, and an average DC otherwise. I think back to the game here a few years ago when we had Alabama beat in Death Valley, and then Chief called nothing but deep prevent and they marched right down the field and destroyed us with screens.

And that wasn't the only instance, but it's at the forefront of my mind at this moment. I can't help but think that had Aranda been DC in that game, he would have stuck to what was working instead of a conservative, drastic change when being aggressive had worked all night.

LSU gets to keep taking advantage of 3rd and Chavis every year, I'll allow it.

So he’s a good dc ONLY when he has literally everything he needs to have a good defense. That makes him average. Maybe worse when you consider he doesn’t recruit at all.

My Christmas Wish is that he stays at aTm.
But Arkansas is ok.

But I’m probably on the naughty list.
