The key is what Michigan does. When Carr resigns Monday we need Michigan to quietly offer Miles the Job and agree to let him finish this year out or he demand to not announce until he does if in NC hunt.
There is no why in the world this is gonna happen in todays media driven society...this would get leaked the very first day...even if it doesn't how would UM explain no coach or interview over the next 2 months?

mike s is saying his michigan sources says Carr is going to do everything he can to keep les from getting the job. This source also says if given the job Jerry Rice will not be brought along as WR coach. Brandon Beal may also switch his commitment from LSU to Michigan.

That may be true. But, you've got to think Les will have many former players and other alumni pulling for him as well.

What about Missouri Coach Gary Pinkel? He fits the mold of hiring coaches from second-tier teams in BCS conferences. They have maybe the best offense in the country this year.

yea I've seen plenty of former players come out and endorse Miles for the job. Lloyd probably wants the job to go to one his assistants, but him and that staff are 1-6 against Tressell so its probably best to go in a different direction.

Tyrone Nix is ok, but i still think he has a lot to learn. muschamp is a known commodity, and he would jump at the chance to work with Spurrier

something else to consider is that carr signed all of his assistants through next year. should miles leave, his coaching staff, for the most part, would already be in place. that would allow the incoming LSU coach to select the current coaches that he wanted to keep.

I've been reading everything on the net for the last few weeks and haven't seen anything to indicate that this is a case. It may be but I haven't seen it.
A reporter that covers Michigan football was on ESPN this evening and said that Mile's comments about Michigan at the beginning of the week (about how "we",Michigan, was going to beat Ohio State) gave all of the Big Blue fans a warm and fuzzy feeling all over.

The alum at UM cannot stand Debord (OC), they are deathly afraid that Carr wants him as the HC.

So, is there anyone on here that actually thinks Miles WILL stay at LSU???????

Thats what most coaches do, interview, Jimbo and Stacy stayed on with Les. LSU is a little different than most schools, they have set money.
Most schools take a total, like 1 mil. and you get your staff from that. This is why you see GA and smaller school coaches get jobs(The coach runs out of money). Some coaches get outside money, this helps out also.

If UM comes calling, I don't think he stays at LSU. Would love for him to stay though.
