Expect Lloyd to keep recruiting to Michigan and tell Les not to worry about that because he'll continue to run the program and tell recruits you'll play for the guy who just won the national championship at LSU, who's now coming to Michigan to win a national title.

sounds good. but it would never work that way. do you really think that UM would be okay with miles saying, "yeah i'll take the job but i can't do ANY work until sometime around january 8th or 9th."

no they wouldn't. sure carr would help. but my point is that miles will have to begin assembling a staff cause not everyone will go with him. then he has to start recruiting for them. every minute that he spends for UM is a minute that he isn't focusing on the NCG. there isn't enough room for error. we cant afford the distraction.

i want miles to stay more than anyone. i think he is a great coach. BUT if he goes, he should go immediately.

not gonna happen. Miles may want the job, but he'll never openly campaign for it. regardless i can't fault the guy for wanting to go home. we'd all do the same.

Pellini is almost certainly a better X's and O's guy than Miles.

Only way I'll miss Les is his recruiting acumen and his general personality which I love.

Les will coach the SECG after that its anybody's guess. I guess that depends on how he, the athletic department, and the players feel about it.

This is how it should be handled. If he wants the Michigan job, he needs to say it to the team and nation as soon as he wants, but he needs to clarify that it would his team NEXT YEAR. This year he is still the HC of the Tigers. That way everyone within the Tiger staff understands what his plan is. If he waits until after the NC game(if we play in it) it would be a distraction to everyone. Just my 2 cents

According to this article, Miles & Carr are not real close. Also, Carr has a lot of stroke still with the higher ups & he probably does not want Les to get the job.

I have to believe that isn't true statement. Home is where you make it.
Remember, Les Miles was not the media darling, nor was he considered a "sure bet", when LSU hired him.
LSU presented Miles with an opportunity of a life time when we hired him. Saban, for all of his crap, left the shelf stocked with some of the best talent in America and the recruiting base in Louisiana is as good as it gets. How much longer do you think he would have survived at Oklahoma State? Do you really think he would be considered for the Michigan job if he had stayed with the Cowboys? I don't think so.

Bottom line: he wants to go then go. If we have to move forward without him, I'd rather start now.

If we don't make it to the BCSCG, or we lose it if we do go, we'll all wonder what happened no matter which way this thing ends up. That's a fact!

God forbid this happen but:

If we beat Arkansas and lose the SECG, then we can go to the Cap One Bowl or Outback and play Michigan. Miles can coach LSU the first half and Michigan the second half.

I have already posted my thoughts on the Coach Miles and Michigan issue:

1. I want Coach Miles to stay
2. If he decides to take the UM job, then we need to do like his hero Bo did when he was AD at Michigan and the basketball coach (Frieder?)decided to take another position at Arizona State before March Madness started. He showed him the door with the response of "I want a Michigan man coaching the basketball team." Same should happen here, if Coach Miles wants to go to UM, then that is fine, no hard feelings and I understand his desire to return to mama, but I want a "LSU guy coaching the football team", meaning someone who WANTS to be here at LSU.

this situation will be a distraction until one of two things happen.

1) UM hires someone else

2) miles accepts the job and vacates his position here.

This could be very bad for us, it is hard enough to get in this position, now you have this Michigan bullshite and Pellini's name on Nebraska's list. I am tired of this, we need an LSU guy!! R

ight now this program is nothing more that a stepping stone for coaches and it should not be that way. Not fair to the kids in the program, the University and the fans.

If Miles gets offered the job and takes the job, I bet he will come out and say it publicly. I would respect him alot more if he did that than lying about it. The higher ups at LSU are mobilizing as we speak. Miles desires a championship, and with this in mine I believe Michigan will not wait for him to complete this season and probably go after someone else. I know one thing for sure, nobody on the damn rant has the answer as to how all this will shake out.

I so agree with that. LSU is one of the elite programs in college football. My hope is that Coach Miles stays and that he will announce this week.

Agreed. I guess the only thing that will prevent this situation from being a complete circus is that we have great senior leadership on both sides of the ball; moreover, we have guys that have been down this road with the Saban "Soap Opera".

I bet Mr. Dorsey didn't risk millions of dollars coming back for his senior year to have Miles' future employment destroy his dream without a say in the matter.
