No way. We made it all up on this board. The infallible Woodward cannot sin.

The narrative that OU doesn’t pay coaches and is in financial trouble is one of the stupidest ones out there

They are top 10 in revenue and have a much larger endowment than LSU. Also huge donors

Yeah. The real story at OU isn't that they're broke, it's that they're sometimes a little unwilling to open up their wallets. Fiscally conservative.

Lincoln is fighting for equal footing as they enter the SEC.

NIL, assistant salaries, more analysts, compliance, things like that.

Two leaks about Riley and USC today.

It screams Riley isn't off the market.

If he was this shite wouldn't be leaking

It’s all bull shite. If Oklahoma had”matched the offer” it would be public knowledge by now.

Carl Reed is a friend of the OU program.

But yeah, he's not exactly right.

OU didn't match the annual salary. It'll be close to $10 million.

Correct. With the lingering Big12 exit fee it was just LSU taking a chance that OU would call the bluff and it almost worked.

I don’t blame Woodward for trying. He better have a solid backup.

So Riley was offered. Hmmm interesting.

Not exactly new information. The whole “he was never a serious candidate” talk is BS. He was, we asked, he said no. Done and done.

Could be in negotiations with LSU but stuck on a few points. So his camp leaks fake information to Feldman (with whom Riley is close) to put pressure on LSU to concede on a few points.

I truly doubt USC is making a genuine attempt at Riley.

Not when you can get Aranda or Campbell for 8 or 9 and beat his arse every time you meet him on the football field.

LSU always seem to be willing whores letting themselves get strung along as leverage for the job someone actually wants. My God, set a firm deadline and if the coach doesn't act by the deadline move on. It's not difficult. If a guy wants the job, he'll make it happen.

Instead this seems to be the strategy of negotiation

LSU: We really want you bad. You interested?

Coach: OMG I'm like soooo interested. I'm in.

LSU: ok let's get a contract signed

Coach: absolutely. Can't wait. I'm just like really busy right now but I swear I'm interested. I really want the job. Well get something set up soon.

LSU: ok. But we can't wait forever.

Coach: totally understand. No worries. I'm solid.

LSU: great!

Coach publicly: I'm not interested in LSU

LOL USC.

I hope their next headcoaching hire loots them as much as people in Cali loot businesses.

What's the tax difference in California as opposed Oklahoma? I'd say California is way more. USC isn't coveted a job as sone may think. Who , besides some flaming liberal wants to deal with that radical nonsense out there? You think a conservative MAGA coach is gonna work there? They're better off taking someone who is accustomed to the west coast.

All coaches are attention whores. That's a big part of why they're in the profession.
