his resume would be worse than Strongs when he was hired

unsure why theyd want to take another risk on an uproven hire again

Who says they do?

Sure, he'll be a candidate, and he may get it, but I can guarantee you that UT will aim higher at first.

Up and comer with Texas ties. They play no defense in the Big12. You only have to beat Oklahoma which he did with less talent.

Yes. He us very highly regarded in coaching circles for his tactical prowess and intelligence. I mean hell, Saban sought him out for advice.

Well there's the fact that he's a Mensa international member... as far as football goes -
quote:

"I would always call Tom and ask him about things because I knew he was going to be at the forefront of the offensive trends," Aranda told the Ventura County Star in 2013. "He was always my go-to guy for information. We don't have those talks as much anymore, but I have always respected him for the help."

Because people like hiring unproven coaches that will probably morph into the next Charlie Strong would be my guess. A lot of them want a spread offense so bad that they are willing to sell their souls to the devil.

I agree with you, but the UT admins are a pack of liberals and it has been my experience that liberal rarely if ever learn form their repeated mistakes.
