There are NIL and the fact practice just started. Holy shite you are dumb.

So too late for a player to leave...........but just last page you were bitching about nepotism and Steven being hired..........but I am dumb? :rotflmao:
quote:

What kind of prospects do you think those players had to transfer the first day of basketball season, you gullible freak.

so you think Pett didn't have any options?

I am sure there wasn't a single Power school that didn't have any scholarships left.
quote:

Recruiting is about money now regardless of the coach.

 sure it is............for one year until they go to another "bidder" the following year. We lost zero players from the bball team once Bruce stepped down.

THIS is the roster Bruce had. Steven was dealt this hand. As I said before.......we will see what kind of roster Steven can put together next cycle.
quote:

I remember quite distinctly Pearl going out of his way to tell us JJ Pegues was someone Steven wanted and recruited.

He was.......but Steven didn't go out on his own. He had to get Bruce's approval.

He missed on that one. Every HC misses on people they want recruited.

Since you want to cherry pick............

quote:

Former head coach Bruce Pearl publicly credited his son, Steven, for successfully identifying and recruiting Broome, referring to him as finding a "diamond in the Transfer Portal". The recruitment involved a direct battle with SEC rival Florida and its new coach, Todd Golden, who was a former Auburn assistant himself.
He has been a good recruiter............for who Bruce wanted him to recruit.

You seriously can't be this stupid. The staff recruits who the HC wants recruited............in every sport.
quote:

It's mighty convenient to call Steven Bruce's right hand man before we hired him,

he was

quote:

but now that you need to lift some of his blame of the roster you say Bruce has been responsible for the roster.

who the frick do you think is responsible for any roster, the HC or an asst.?

quote:

This touchy feely fluff doesnt win ballgames.

Do you ever tire of being wrong?

This is a flawed roster. This roster is Bruce's.

We have no PG.

We lack in bigs.

Hall is the lone bright spot of our roster. Other than that, it's not very good.

Steven hasn't been outcoached. We have been out-talented.
quote:

he should have been made interim so a legit search could be conducted at the end of the session.

Yes, the "interim" tag for a year would have done wonders for recruiting.

...........or maybe you hire a guy who is familiar with our program and keep the entire staff that has been the most successful in the history of Auburn basketball?

ETA Bruce left him a very flawed roster. Again, we will see how he builds a roster next cycle.
quote:

That's what a coaching search is for.

AGAIN........what established HC is going to leave the day before practice starts?

quote:

This cant be your justification for making this hire.

It absolutely is.
quote:

We should have had a real coaching search

so who exactly do you think we would have gotten the day before practice starts?
quote:

3 point shooting is bad, but not having a big guy that can play is what is really hurting us.

we have a poorly constructed roster. It isn't Steven's fault. Next year will be a better barometer of what Steven can do.
quote:

Harsin did more with way less talent.

Harsin ran off a legacy who was born Auburn. He is Denver's starting QB.

Harsin went to Cal and ran off the entire skill positions on O. One went on to win the Heisman this year.
Freeze was a bad hire. Harsin is arguably the worst hire in SEC history.
quote:

Amaris Williams supposedly made 350,000 at Auburn and he was much more highly sought after.

quote:

He has an On3 NIL Valuation of $119K. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.

LINK

It doesn't get any more clear than that.
quote:

NIL Value, on the other hand, measures an athlete’s market value in terms of licensing and sponsorship. This value is influenced by on-field performance, media exposure, and social media presence.

and there you have it. It is not what the player is getting. It is what On3 considers the players value is to the team. Unless a player flat out tells On3 what they are making, On3 is just guessing.

Again, do you think Vandy was paying top 9 money for Pavia?
quote:

That's Pavia's estimated net worth.

BS. That is On3's valuation.

LINK

It clearly states, top right, "NIL Valuation /
Roster Value".
quote:

Yes. On3 has him valued at 473,000.

That is their valuation. That is not the number.

On3 has Pavia tied at 9th with Raiola and Sayin. Do you think Vandy was paying him $2.5M?

ETA Hell, On3 had Arch listed as the top NIL earner when he wasn't getting a penny from NIL yet.
quote:

When did you talk to him?

He said it on air when he was calling the Auburn/Michigan game in Vegas.
quote:

No he wasn't. He was probably getting about 400,000 maybe.

He was a highly sought after WR coming out of HS. Do you honestly think he signed for $400K?
quote:

What the heck is "first round money"

The list of the top 25 NIL earners is out and I highly doubt Perry sniffs that list.

It means on Auburn's roster, he was getting upper-end NIL money.

Do you think Jackson Arnold was worth whatever he was getting? He was also one of the top NIL earners on our roster last year.

You watched. The fat needs to be trimmed. Some will leave that are going to hurt. That is the game we live in now. Some aren't worth the money they are getting. Players have the power in todays game.
quote:

Golesh will probably pull in some of his former players. There are 8 USF bulls in the portal, all rated 3 star or less.

I am sure he will bring in some of his guys. Cignetti took 15 players with him to Indiana from JMU. Cam Ward was a 0*. If you can play, you can play.
