I’d say this staff has some coaches that don’t have the skins on the wall as actual coaches like Meatball and Mickey. Then you have some good coaches that can’t really recruit in Tommie Robinson

At this level you need to be a great recruiter and good coach or great coach and solid recruiter. You can’t be completely lacking in one of the two.

Most people need to realize this team was picked to win 5 or 6 wins. This was not the most talented LSU lineup top to bottom. We had a QB with no starts and was in campus for 3 months. We had no running backs, and a banged up offensive line.

We should have won 11 games this year. We lost 1 because of talent, 1 because of coaching, and 1 because of refs. Why would you blow up a staff that was picked to win 5 games and ended up winning 9 and making a New Years 6 bowl likely.

Relax people. There will be changes made but we are in a better position than people think.

All of this is absolutely correct. The only complaint I had is at times the playcalling was atrocious (1st and goal in 4th OT, TD wins you the game and you run it 3 times). Ensminger isn't that bad. WR's dropped more passes than I think I have ever seen an LSU team drop and the o-line struggled. When the o-line was playing good that offense could move the ball.

Sometimes shite just happens. Deculus had to play this year and IMO he wasn't ready. You bring in the #1 juco OT in the country and you expect him to be ready and he wasn't. Your best lineman gets kicked off the team...

LSU is on the rise. Yeah it's not as fast as we all would like, but unlike with the Miles era changes are being made. The coaches are seeing what is wrong and they are trying to fix it. Not all of their decisions are panning out but they are changing what isn't working. Whatever coaching changes happen this year I'll be okay with (as long as Aranda doesn't go anywhere). The future is bright boys.

I think this says more about the people making the predictions than the coaching staff.

The rest I agree with. I'm not looking to blow up the entire staff. I hope a few key hires can be made (one of them being OC) and build on the success. Next year the coaching staff need to avoid the brain farts (Florida and to some degree aTm) and somehow find a way to compete with Bama. Burrow will be better with more experience. We'll get a studly RB. Hopefully we avoid injuries on the O-line and we'll get Chaisson back. Don't underestimate that. Losing him was probably the worst possible injury we could have gotten on D.

I don't think everyone sees this staff as something thats all great like a few here seem to think. We had to bring in a coach to basically coach the coach in charge of wrs. The rotation was bad, they dropped a ton of balls and lacked the ability to create separation.

Then you had slinger who seemed to call different game plans against different teams and in none of them did I feel he made proper adjustments during the game to counter what the defense was doing. Not to mention we were really bad for the most part this season and seemed to use the wrong personal at times for what we were doing. Seems we played tight and safe all year till the 7 OTs against AM.

I agree with this. I am told that is where the modification will come.

Joseph has done well in recruiting...better than Robinson.

Sullivan will retire so I’m assuming he’s one of the two you mentioned but I hope the other isn’t Joseph.

Exceeding media pundits preseason predictions doesn't mean anything. They miss big every year and missed big on a lot of teams this year.

Offensive play calling was erratic, wr rotation was all Head scratchingly bad. Not saying the whole staff should be blown up, just offensive staff.

I agree, 3rd year is the make or break, money year for this staff.

What? You can have NFL talent, but when they go out on injury how does that help?

He brought completely different gane plans every game and feel that's why this offense struggled, absolutely no identity. The in game adjustments or lack there of were maddening.

I'd say the only time I saw SE play aggressive was 1st half of UM, auburn, uga. After that they played or called games close/safe to not screw up a good season. Then they had to let the nuts hang in OT

So you're arguing that the offense was great this year. Where were the seniors along the offensive line.

All the would-be seniors left after Orgeron became head coach, Ben. I know it’s really difficult for you, but try to keep up.

I would agree whole heartedly with that. To me UGA was an outliner simply because we appeared to get more aggressive once the D started getting all of the turnovers and great field position, But you are correct after that we went safe.

I was told that E is stepping down from the role as OC but I could see this scenario. More of a “stepping aside” situation than “stepping down”.

I just hope the change that is going to make everyone feel all warm and fuzzy isn’t Sean Salisbury. That dick pic sending douche isn’t going to fix anything.

Change at WR coach sounds good, not sure it could get worse. But if the "small change" is SS and that's supposed to fix the erratic play calling and putrid offense, I'll hit a few baby seals with a hammer.

I get what you’re saying, I’m just soooo tired of being mediocre on offense. It just seems like we are always trying to fix the offense and the only solution that we ever come up with is the equivalent to putting a bandaid on a heart attack. At some point you need to do something a little more revolutionary and drastic. If not, we will be paying more buyouts sooner rather than later.

lolwut?

So now the narrative is not even the "picked to win 7", it's picked to win 5?

You Ogre apologists never stop.

I expected at least 9 wins. Just looking at the roster and schedule. This whole "LSU is rebuilding; give O time; everyone predicted 8 I mean 7 I mean 6 I mean 5 wins" crap is a narrative spun by the Ogre camp. Don't buy it.
