The fact is, neither Les Miles nor LSU has announced that the football team will be replacing the Defensive Coordinators. No notice has been given that the position is available.
The main statements concerning the defense is that "We are going to fix that...before the bowl game."
Other statements, during the season, have been "except for a few plays here and there, the defense played good enough for us to win."
The only outrage is coming from the fans (including me).
This is why there is so much frustration...no just because Les Miles has not hired a new coach, but that Les Miles has barely admitted, if at all, that there is a, except for a few plays here and there, major problem with the defense.
This isn't even a public relations nightmare because LSU is not conducting any public relations as it concerns the football team's defensive woes.
And fortunately there is a place to vent our concerns...right here at TD.com.
Go Tigers
well, it isn't Miles' job to make you happy or keep you informed. his job is to win football games. if keeping this low key helps bring in a really good DC, then let him do what he has to.

This has shite to do with a bonus, IF this was the only reason, they would be gone with bonus in hand......we can do it, we got the check book, Christ.
I would imagine any DC we want is still working, or in a situation like GR in Syr.

DING DING DING...and though people would be happy if we hired a new DC today, they would be pissed to find out that we could have gotten a much better one had we waited another 2 weeks.
Kind of like when we were looking for a head coach...

But at least we "officially" knew that we were looking for a new coach. The DC position at this time is not available. Not open. No search is being conducted. Nothing official from LSU or LM indicates otherwise.

So true Slackhouse. But it isn't my job to keep LM happy either. In fact, that's why they call this the RANT. So, when our team goes 7-5 and our defense looks like swiss cheese, we rant and rave.
Go team go
Go team go

to sell bowl tickets that may not sell if something does not occur before the game.
Yeah, because the $2.4m in ticket sales is really worth the risk of making a bad hire and sucking ala Michigan, Notre Dame.
The bowls will make that amount of money in advertising sales during the pre-game show.

Who are we talking about here? Miles? Buddy? Tommy from Olinde's?
Tommys wife is far from ugly Cash. What's with the Tommy hate today? Did he sell you a bad mattress or something?

Greg Robinson is on record as saying he's been contacted. You don't contact DC candidates if you aren't planning on hiring a new DC.

Well people were contacted last year and it looked like he wasn't planning on hiring any of them. Just sayin

There is an opening this year? When was this announced?

chavis or tenuta would be a great hire both would
take the job right now and both would help in the bowl game. Anything would be better then what we have now.

Chavis and two of his assistants are going to Clemson....FWIW.

How do you know this?
Posted on 12/9/08 at 4:52 pm to SlipperyPete
and if we miss out on the top 3 or 4 DC's that is sending a message that will make fans really uncomfortable

For what it's worth, Songy said today that he thinks the coaching changes will be 1 or 2 at the most.
