White interviewed him for the UCF job three years ago before hiring Heupel. So he’s comfortable with him, but he’s at best a fallback option.

Danny White hired University of Buffalo's Lance Leipold a few years back. Lance has been a friend for years and I sent him a text earlier this week asking if he threw his hat in the ring and crickets- usually he responds immediately, including recently when he was interviewing for the Illini job. He was the frontrunner for the job until Bielema interviewed. Not sure what it means but just sayin'.
