From the beginning, LSU had 2 targets -- Jimbo Fisher and Tom Herman. It's pretty simple to see what took place. Fisher and his agent Jimmy Sexton priced themselves off the table. LSU was not going to pay out almost $70 million for 10 years. As everyone thought, Herman would take Texas over LSU. Charlie Strong will be fired later this morning. Herman has told LSU that he is leaning toward Texas.

By his body of work, Orgeron moved ahead of all of the other candidates other than Fisher and Herman. Being a Louisiana guy certainly helped him. Orgeron is a better choice than the Fedora, Fuente, etc. of the world.

Gundy, Fedora, Fuente...all these guys would have been better hires than orgeron and their HC records actually prove it. Not some fantasy story printed in a fricking trapper keeper.

Exactly. You lose literally nothing by doing this.

Bc he hurt Joe's feelings, so Joe wants to take away his leverage by hiring a d line coach with a domestic abuse history.

That all makes sense. Too bad we couldn't get one of those guys, but they simply chose not to come. Jimbo tried to break the bank, and Herman chose UT. So we're left with O.

I just wonder who O has tabbed as his OC.

Can't blame Florida on O.

98 yd pass play - Jackson
Fumble at 5 - Guice
Wrong play 4th down - Guice

Reverse those 3 plays, game isn't even close.

Plus, he can convince like 4 people nationwide that LSU really wanted O all along.
