Brian Kelly would do 2 things

1. Keep the program as a mid tier, at best, SEC West team. 2. Immediately open the door for Notre Dame to hire fickell, which would be an upgrade for them. This would be more of a win for Notre Dame, than LSU.

We should not make our decisions based on who other schools will hire once we take their coach.

Mediocre?? You had coaches that wanted to spike balls on 4th down and coaches that hired assistants without even interviewing them. Brian Kelly has won everywhere he's been and his teams play over their talent level. You give him LSU talent pool and he's top tier. Dude can absolutely coach!

Mediocre, yes. The SEC West is a gauntlet. He plays an SEC West team every couple of years and is manhandled. His issues are exactly the issue lsu has had as a program, lack of QB. Nobody in South LA wants to play for Kelly.
