He is 60 though so maybe a little on the older side
Proven winner

Not sure why he's so unpopular outside the incident with the kid.

Not to make light of that, but people seem to have no issue with Urban protecting murderers, Freeze molesting kids at a high school, or Briles enabling rape (last search).

He's essentially the poor man's version of Saban with an offensive background.

He'd be a good hire.

That’s a pretty big deal

Doesn’t matter what people on here think, none of these people will be considered in the slightest

Kelly is like an older lesser Jimbo Fisher. He wins but he doesn't do anything great then he rolls around with a cycle of about 4 years before he has a "great" team that he really does nothing with. Let's not forget this guy would not be a culture fit for our program. We also don't want a dinosaur that will be retired possibly in a few years. No.

I think, overall, Kelly is a better coach than Jimbo, but Jimbo might edge him in recruiting.

What is the culture of our program right now? Whatever it is, it's not great. Seems like a culture change could be a good thing.

Wins just enough to keep his name out there. Gets Notre Dame on SportsCenter. Gets his arse handed to him in big games against elite teams. No thanks.

He’s good but a little underwhelming. Luke Fickell has done more than Kelly did at Cincy so apples to apples, I’d take Fickell if I had the choice.

He would be a terrible fit to overhaul the culture here and grandpas is about to retire anyway.

If you’re going that route, you get M Stoops.

Brian Kelly

An agro hothead, who couldn't survive under the scrutiny of a State funded University.

Kelly was implicated in the death of a Student Manager, and Notre Dame did nothing.

Not to mention his very underwhelming performance as a HC.

We give Riley a pass for this but not Kelly?

Kelly is a damn good coach, but not sure if he can recruit at an elite level. Consistently in the top 15 at ND, at LSU we’d need him to be closer to 5. Definitely would bring stability, but he’s 60 and already has a pretty damn good job.

Not my #1, but nowhere close to melt worthy if he was the hire

Absolute no brainer to me and it's not even close, but I wouldn't hate Kelly.

He's 60. Fisher is 57.

Guess that title of HCIW for Marcus Freeman would come true

Lol what? Kelly went 34-6 at Cincy with back to back NY6 bowls. their resumes are essentially identical at cincy
